We've got bibs, bracelets, gear bags, timing chips, etc. The only thing mandatory at this point is finishing what started.

**** OFFICIAL BT MEETUP ****8:30am just west of Joes crabshack by that little square building. You can swim before or after. I'll be swimming after we meet. I'll be the guy with a blue ironman bracelet on. Haha, no really, I'll be in tri shorts and a white sleeveless tri top with red sides. Also have a red road ID on. Everyone good with this? I'm open for changes. I'll check here when i wake up and before I head out.I'll also be at the underpants run. PM me if you want to swap cell numbers.

Good places we have eaten so far in Louisville:

Ri Ra Irish Pub on 4th Street (good beers and yummy upscale pub food)
Java Brewery on Hwy 42/River Street (coffee and brie/proscuitto or tomato/basil/mozzarella or gruyere/sopressata sandwiches on fresh baguettes with a selection of coffee shop items and tons of books)
BJs Brewery in the mall in Shelbyville - Delicious porter and IPA and Chicago-style deep dish pizza.  Also, for pre-race, they have giant potatoes stuffed with all manner of goodness

Some guy came up to me at the practice swim and asked why everyone was wearing their timing chip.  When I told him he was all pi$$ed off.  All  I could think was they told us about 5 times in writing and at the athlete meeting.

Clear something up for me if you will.

After we check in our bikes, will we have access to them before the swim or is the next time we see them going to be after the swim in transition?

If I need to put something on my bike at 5 a.m. will I be out of luck?

Based on what was said at the athlete meeting last night, we will have access to the bikes in the morning before the swim start.  I am planning on putting on nutrition in the morning (bottles, gu, etc.), as well as pumping up the tires.  Then I will be heading to the swim start and body marking.

Ugh am I the only one who thinks their Gear Bags are not right??? I have been going over my stuff for the past 2 hours and feel that I am missing something (though it is all stuff I have used in training). My brain is at its limits >_<

Me too.  It has me more worried than the heat.  I mean I can run when it is hot but if I forget a bike shoe it is over.

What is everyone's plan for the am?  I know transition official opens at 5am but can you get there early and wait in line (or have a family member hold it or is that a waste of time?

I am planning on being at transition when it opens.  I'll inflate the tires, put nutrition on the bike, check the bags once more (quickly), then walk to swim start.  Get body marked and get in line.  Then swim, bike, run, through an incredible day!

I will check my bike at 5 and then head to get marked. Hopefully in line @6:00.
