So how you all coping with polar vortex ? Here no real noticeable change. Maybe a bit windier and a touch wetter but nothing really. Daughter flew back yesterday from Madrid to Baltimore. Flight delayed because of winds. Missed the connection in London, rerouted to DC instead of Balt, struggled to find ground transport from DC to Baltimore at that hour, but in the end made it.

Next week I start working with a trainer lifting weights and stuff! She also wants to know about my diet and the stuff I eat...

I may be having second thoughts about this.

And the funny thing is that she has been working with my bride for the past 18 months, so I told her that she at no point can tell me my wife lifts more than me!

I got an earache last night.  Odd.  That hasn't happened in a LONG time.

Can't decide if it came from my swim, my cold, or my 10min run brick after my bike when I went out in shorts and a T-shirt when it was only in the 40's last night.

Anyway, it HURT.  It didn't help that I though the thing to do to help was to sleep on that side of my head (thinking if it was pool water, it would drain).  It only made it WORSE.  ended up taking some advil and sleep more upright.

It still kind of hurts.  Like when your ears pop in a plane.

Sorry for the long back story, but the question is.  Should I swim again at lunch?

Want to know my latest obsession?

Cast Iron cookware!

I always liked it and started using it again and even added a few new pieces but I have learned SO much recently.

I bought a book with care and recipes and it said Gibson and Wagner are collector pieces.  I pulled out my old stuff I got from my mom and dad or someone and found 2 Wagners!

Also learned tips to salvage old pieces.  The Wagners and a couple others were really a mess.  Lots of burned on stuff.  Learned you put them in an oven and run the self clean cycle and it all burns off.  Totally worked!  They came out almost looking like the day they came out of the foundry.  I was a little sad to see all the seasoning and patina that had built up on, but in a couple months, it will be back.

So I'm going to start scouring yard sales and thrift/donation shops for pieces and see if I can find something cool.  Especially the fun shaped cornbread molds...  There is SO much delicious stuff you can make in them...

Sorry to ramble.  Bit bored.

Yeah, I kind of don't feel like it.  Not because I don't want to work out, but the thought of getting water in my ear makes me uncomfortable.  Probably just a run.

I am tired of writing work instructions and fighting with a large car manufacture on packaging

Why is it that someone behind a desk makes a decision without even looking at something and continues to fight until it becomes a commercial issue then I have to get nasty with them. They push it up a corp ladder waste everyone's time.

Only to be told to agree with me in the end. 45 emails refusal to attend a conference call and involve 12 other people from his company and 2 others from mine. Only to be told by his corp manager to stop being ridiculous.

I ship to multiple facilities and this guy wants to argue every time.

especially because it's LIKELY the pool that caused the earache.  if it still hurts tomorrow get to a doc.  get some swim-ear for whenever you go back to the pool anyway.

It is a great show starring Timothy Olyphant. He is a US Marshall in Kentucky on FX. You should check it out.

At least dump some peroxide in your ear. It works wonders for me.

I get swimmers ear a lot when I scuba dive in Florida in the fresh water Caves. Bacteria etc get in my ear regardless of using drops every day after diving. Spending 3-6 hours underwater each day for a week takes it's toll.

The sooner you start at it and the more you avoid water the better off you will be.
