doctorbob18 - 2009-06-25 4:40 PM ughhh I hate this weather!! I picked up my new bike at lunch today and patiently waiting all day to ride it after work. All day it was sunny and warm. When it was coming time to leave it started getting really dark.. by the time I got home the rain started and now its a full blown thunderstorm. I just want to ride my pretty new bike

We wanna SEEEEEEE.

(The bike, not the storm... Tongue out)

I swam at the pool after work and it was unbelievably empty! Such a stark contrast the the chaos I tried to endure on Monday morning. I was able to decide which of the several empty lanes I wanted to use! Had it to myself the entire time and practically had the entire pool to myself at the end. I guess I could get used to this! ;)

surfnturf - 2009-06-25 10:26 AM Soooo...my morning run was supposed to put me over my goal but I woke up a little late and ran what I could in order to get my daughter to camp on time. Crazy as it sounds, I miscalculated the distance and I am .16 shy of my goal! Needlesstosay, I will be running tomorrow or Saturday to finish it up. So frustrating!! How is everyone else doing today?

At least you won't have to run very far to get there lol

KrisSeer - 2009-06-25 12:55 PM I got up early today to do my run. The point of this was to A) get it over with and out of the way and B) avoid being too hot while running after work.

Then it got down to forty degrees last night... I was SOOOO cold on the run this morning. And my legs are really tight because I didn't take enough time to stretch for such a chilly run. I'm trying to stretch at my desk now.

But still . . . at least I'm done!!

Great job, always nice to get them done early!

Thanks!!

I'll be finishing up my running for the month too! I'm just about there and shouldn't have any problems. Also figure out a game plan for the Tour de France challenge next month.

Plus a bunch of mind-numbing chores, like cleaning and bill-paying that I've neglected over the past couple of weeks. Weekends have been pretty busy lately, but nothing set in stone this time. Might be nice!

Enjoy your first ride!! Sounds like so much fun!

I keep loitering about buying a new bike... Maybe glowing reports of somebody else's new bike will inspire me.

How cool that you can meet with other BTers near you. I don't think there are too many around here. Do you train with other people regularly?

I train alone almost exclusively, but I will only do OWS with others around. I've done a few with my tri club but this will be the first time I'll meet BTers outside of at a tri. I do an occasional group ride with my bike friend's LBS.

Sounds like the best plan, especially if you're more comfortable that way. I haven't attempted an OWS as part of training yet. Enjoy the BTer swim!!

It's a bit embarrassing to admit but I got into tri in a "if she can do tri, I can do tri" way. Back in the fall of 2006 one of the women I rode with told me about the Iron Girl tri she had just done and it got me intrigued. I started running a month or so later and then hit the pool for the first time two months after that. I signed up for Iron Girl a few months later.

Night all. I'll check back on Monday after the camping trip. I will run this weekend for sure. Hopefully some Mtb and kayaking as well.

I got into tris on a pure whim after finishing the c25k program last year. Probably early onset mid life crisis. Whatever, it seems to be working.
Have great weekends all,
GO BUGS!

I had been biking recreationally for a few years, and running on and off for even longer, and being really into sports triathlon has always kinda interested me. After college I had some extra time on my hands and no real competitive outlet, so I thought no better time than now! I was hooked after my first race last summer.
