I'll try to fix it once I have access to my laptop or one of you computer smart people may help ...Ooh, never mind, I fixed it! Yeah me.Ohhh yes Monty Python!!! I love the MP references they had in the Olympic closing ceremonies. Actually the way I "discovered" Monty Python is quite odd. I was in math class on my first day of high school and this kid behind me whispers, "pssssssssst" so I turn around and he hands me this DVD and says, "Watch this. It will change your life. Thank me later." So I did. Super random. I'm the only American in my lab. Most people haven't seen it. Heck, most of them haven't seen the Star Wars or Indiana Jones movies. Makes for strange cultural references. My work partner is from Hungary. Once in a while I say something she doesn't get, like "Spidey-sense". The other day I asked her if she new what Sesame Street was. She said that she used to watch it on Sunday mornings, usually with a hang-over. That is part of how she learned English. Then she proceeded to imitate the Count counting. Ha! |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED rrrunner - 2012-12-06 2:27 PM I stayed home today because I had to take one of my migraine pills. That means the migraine is gone but I can't work because the pills make me dizzy (a bad trait on any job, but especially mine). So I've been baking and making candy and I created a super-yummy chocolate covered coffee toffee. mmmmmmmm. I got the idea from a chocolatier we visited this summer but the recipe is mine. OH, and I am a great-aunt again! My sister's daughter gave birth to a 5lb 14oz baby boy this morning. He's my sister's third grandson. Sorry about the migraine! Yuck. Congrats though!! OMG, if I EVER decide to have kids I sure hope it's only 5lb 14 oz! Was he early? |

Bad news, me vs train tracks on the bike: and yes, those are arm warmers on my scrawny azz legs. Don't hate.
*Additional good news, I hardly even remember that my ITB ached a little. I have a new focus. Oh no! I hope that you didn't break the tracks... or anything else. Seriously, glad that the ITB seems to be improving. |

Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Racing Manatee - besides her Yantiness of course... I got me a swim meet - 1.2km weather forecast is sunny 39 degrees (102F) it's 10.30 in the morning so still be chilly enough for my sleeveless wettie. I'm excited and of course a little nervous. There's no plan to finish in a specific time, just a good practice swim race.

So will I speed up the run sections or increase to 3mins....give that a try first. Happy though after being quite wretched for a week - I'm back faster! |

Expert 1452 Troy, MI | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Salty, hope that heals soon. It looks painful. Hope you bit those tracks back. Did the bike survive? Honestly that picture turns my stomach (and I am a nurse) so I think I may have to steal it as my new diet motivation picture. Any time I feel like eating I shall look at your knee and my appetite will go away. Thanks for taking one for your mentee!! I shall call it the Salty knee diet. Maybe I can make a book of extra grotesque pictures and sell it to the weight loss masses for reference. When hungry, stare at a picture. |

I'd take it to the bike docs just to make sure the frame is still solid and really only the handlebars need to be replaced. GO JO BAXAS! GO CHILLY ME! Demoralizing day ... but then counted my blessings and checked this thread. Thanks for such inspiration, faith and funny tales The practice swim got canceled halfway through this morning and athletes were being herded or as necessary fished out of the water. Strong wind and 2m swells with whitecaps and chop. AWESOME! I'm totally fine with that except if they cancel the swim ... I shall be pizzed ... and the wind is cold, cold, cold. Even the locals are bundled up. I went cycling and running in the "heat" of the day in bright sunlight. I was wearing a tri top, a long-sleeve over that, a cycling jersey over that, and a shell OVER THAT and I still froze even while running. (The pic is of my nicely blue-mottled blue-veined hand). In a fair bit of pain from the arthritis and muscle tightness from cold and shivers So here's the good news. I'm not going to die. I'm going to be prepared. Any day upright and breathing, especially with limbs intact and having the resources to do a financially and physically high-end activity is awesome. I'd much rather do 17 hours of fun in the cold than spend 17 hours having some of the illnesses I've had in the last years. Also, a small group of triathletes who rented a duplex and brought an extra athlete as house-batch to cook and sherpa adopted me, so I'm being extremely well-fed and spoiled. PIGLETS.
