Hi Sally - welcome!I am in an out of airports today traveling from N. Michigan back to ATL. In MN (MSP) for a short layover then home. Hopefully enough time this afternoon for a couple of hours of easy recovery on the bike. Looking forward to all the race reports coming- lots of good racing going on this weekend.

Ran a really fun and extremely challenging trail 5k yesterday and grabbed an AG first place despite my slowest 5k ever.

Im a bit stressed this morning. My big final practical is at noon. I've hit the point of not really being able to study anymore. I'm not sure what time I'll be done because we get held in "quarantine" until the second group of our writing is over, but I will try to get one of the runs I missed last week in if I get out at a decent time. I have a 5x1mi at HM pace to do.

Good luck Melissa!

I hope you get your run in as well.  That would be a good stress release.

Watching the 70.3 world's and Raelert got a 4' drafting penalty. Too bad.

Rob Adams did the first 56 miles of the bike in 2:24!

Watching too.  What goes through your head when you have Crowie, Docherty and O'Donnell chasing you as a group??

Lastly, I am strongly thinking of selling my powermeter to allow me to get the S-works crank.

I like training with power but don't think it's necessary for me. By selling it it will allow for the purchase of the Shiv.

I know lots of folks train with power here, but aside from the trainer (and I alreday have a computrainer) I don't think it's of great benefit for me.

I don't race to power goals much, much more with HR and RPE although I have followed power on most rides.

Group thoughts??

I'm still pretty new to the power game so I keep a close eye on it in races while I learn what a certain power level "feels" like.  You are much more experienced so that may work for you but I wouldn't be trading it.

Powertap?  I'm guessing that you almost always race 404/cover so just sell the rear 404 for a training wheel PT with a cover.  The only reason I wish I had a quarq/srm is because I road race and Honu doesn't allow a disc.

Had a pretty good 60 mile ride yesterday.  Near the end, I took a 5ish minute break to refill bottles and let the rest of the group catch up and had some major lactic acid pooling (or at least that's what it felt like) in my legs.  I was coasting downhill and my legs were screaming at me as if I was finishing the last mile of a TT.  Lasted about 5 minutes before it went away.  Strange...

Had a blast at my bowling fundraiser.  2 games of no-tap (hit 9 pins on your first ball in any frame an you get credit for a strike) and shot 216 and 218.  And I still only beat our office secratary (who's about 4'11" and old enough to be my mom) by 3 pins...lol.

Going for a short 5ish mile run in a few minutes.  Just going to space out and not worry about pace.  Hopefully I run faster than 11:00 mm.

Thanks for the warm welcome I knew I shouldn't give up on BT completely!

I just got back from my 60 mile "recovery' ride. Yesterday I did the fast paced group ride out here, ended up with 80 miles. Today's ride has an option of hills or coffee. Every week I tell myself I am going to do coffee but once again I found myself going up those darn hills. We do 3 really short steep climbs, I ride with a group of roadies and they always tease me about my TT bike so I really have to work hard and keep up with them on the steep climbs. I totally run out of gears though

Yes Yanti! We are the old timers and I have enjoyed your blog and posts over the years. Waving Hello

I'm enjoying the race coverage today too. I have friends racing in Vegas!

You will be ok

I hope you are right. OSCE is done. Our Obs/gyne station was PROM. It was a senior surg resident marking and he just kept giving me looks with all my answers "are you serious? Is that really your answer?" Pretty sure I got through most of it fine though and gave the rightanagent plan...Some markers are just mean. Haha. ugh. I do not want to have to redo in March. Just having a mental health break before my run. Might wait till after dinner because I'm pretty hungry now!

Melissa- take it with a grain of salt, 'cause everything I know about your business I learned from watching reruns of Scrubs while sitting on the trainer, but what you describe sounds just about right to me.... no worries, I think you are all good!

I haven't really been able to keep up much as I only have on phone and sketchy cell service, but it looks like Michael (Experior) brought it to the finish line in 11:07 - sweet!
