Good luck on your half mary Jeremy!  You are going to do great

Barry--does your wife really not know??? you are a brave man...ohhh, I just reread your post and you were joking...

Tracy, it happens to all of us...I fell over at a 4 way stop last yr with new pedals and almost died of mostly embarrassment, haven't done it since knock on wood.  I also vote for the new bike!

Have a terrific Sat. everyone.

Jeremy -- good luck tomorrow. What is your strategy?

Tracy--Belly Laugh.  JK!  Who hasn't done that?  I swear if it doesn't happen once a year I must not be riding enough!  Nice job on the aero position too.

Barry - I would upload the photo again.  I have seen several like that since the transition./

Did my 50K relay today and had a great time.  Madison has such a tight running and tri community.  Super friendly and encouraing which makes it so fun.   The winner finished doing 6:04s, really amazing.

Short swim for me tomorrow, otherwise resting the drumsticks.  They are a little ripped up after today.

Tracy. Gave me a good laugh. I should be hitting my first fall shortly. The weather is getting better so I will be Hit (pun intended) the roads very shortly.

Jeremy good luck on the race.

Tracy, don't feel bad.  When I first started out riding, my group nicknamed me "The Turtle" because I was always on my back.  I did however figure out a clever way to keep rolling so as not to scratch up the bike too bad.

Suzy,  Congrats on another race under your belt.  Just a tune up for the big one coming up.

I actually had a BIG DAY (for me) today.  Started out this morning with a 36 mile bike ride, then came home for lunch.  During lunch I decided that I would run to the pool...swim a mile...then run back.  That totaled 6 miles on the run and I cut the swim a couple hundred short due to my leg getting cramped up.  But over all this was huge for me and I still have plenty of energy left over, so I am feeling good about that!   I would say it is about time for a COLD ONE...got to replace some calories.

Rob, Are you saying that the new BT is too wide for your screen?  Do you know what resolution your running 640 x 480, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024?

Glad I am not trying to really run hard tomorrow I feel like I have a few trees worth of pollen up my nose and in my head right now.  Took a 2 hr nap today and could still go to bed right now.

Jeremy, good luck tomorrow.

Oh, also sent an e-mail to a local bike club about joining up.  Never done a group ride before, would like to get some pace line experience and maybe try out a road race or crit sometime soon.

Good luck on the race tomorrow...just a little run in the park for you.  A little FYI on the group ride.  Man, I don't think I would train nearly as hard or often on the bike without my group.  I think you will like it.  We ride and talk about politics and sports etc, and before you know it, you have 20 or 30 miles in.  The other thing I really like...I think there is safety in numbers.  I feel alot safer when there are 2 to 12 of us taking up space on the road.  The drafting is not that big of a deal, although it is awesome when you are able to ride at 25+ mph while riding the brakes.

SO I WAS THINKING...

What is with everyone's BT nicknames?  Ok, I get swbkrun.  But what is up with some of the others and how did you derive your so called handle?  If you care to divulge such sacred info.

Plainsman AU is taken from the university here.  I am an alumni and live in Auburn, (the lovliest village on the plains).  Sometimes our university peeps are called plainsmen.  Plainsman was taken, so i had to add the AU.

dalessit = D'Alessio, Tony, first 7 letters of last name, first initial.  LOL, it is the same login I use everywhere.  My first job where I had a login and e-mail address used that mix so I have been using it for 16 or so years now.  It's funny if you search on that login you can find all my interests over the  years, video game forums, lots of Microsoft forums, linux forums, and now Triathlon forums, + other random stuff.

Everyone always thinks my name is dale, one of these days I should probably think up a new username.

Oh and Rob here is a post about the screen width.

They pretty much are assuming that everyone has IE6 or greater and uses resolutions higher than 1024 x 768

Wow I'm definitely not a fan of the new format.  I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually but I'm feeling lost for now.  Also it makes the site really hard to read from my cell phone.  Lots more to scroll through...  Oh well, at least I can get on now.  I couldn't get on at all yesterday.

As for my screen name....it's been a nickname of mine for years because I tend to be shy and wish I had a shell to crawl in to when I'm in a crowd.  When I got in to tri's and getting in shape the name took on a new meaning.  Because as my signature says, I can do anything, but I do it SLOWLY!

No secret to my name Jeremy Hagerman.

My race strategy is simply to finish strong.  I haven't put in a lot of distance runs recently as I've been playing on the bike.  I feel confident that I'll finish well, but I'm not sure I'll beat my last 1/2 mary time of 1h53m.  We'll see.

I am late to the game today, but Jeremy good luck tomorrow!  Finally got some descent weather here today so I hit the ROADS!!!  Not as hard as Tracy, but I gave it a go!  MY wife is uber crazy... First real ride of the year outside, and she decided that we knock out an easy 85 miles.... We did have a really nice relaxing day though!  I could get used to that.

Suzy great job on your Relay!

I don't know what the resolution on my screen is right now and don't know where to go to check it. I'll have to contact one of my computer knowledgable guys to see if they can help me out.

Redknight:  is a nickname I got when doing karate. All my original fighting gear was red.

Ha.  I was 1:45 per my gps and the race gun, but 1:47 per the tags.

This is unfortunate becuase depending on which you go by, I have a friend that either I beat by a minute, or I got beat by a minute.  Medals were handed out by the first method based on preliminary results, but final race results were the later - placing my friend ahead of me.  Hmpfh.

It was  a great and fun run.  I hit it a bit too hard at the start, but I maintained that pace and finished strong.  Now my legs are pretty sore.  I love it!

Great job Jeremy!  That is still a terrific time either way  You and your friend will have to start together next time and then "it's ON!"

Rob, you and I could have done our run together, but I would have been struggling to keep up  My dog would have been happy to go faster, though.

My screen name is boring, first and last initials and the year I was born.

Have a great Sunday everyone.  Congrats to Mich State and c'mon, Stanford, let's see if we can beat mighty UConn

Nice race Jeremy.

LOL, just put up my race report, was an exciting morning, sitter was supposed to be here at 6:15, didn't get here until 7:30 or so, race started at 7:40  for elites.

We were the last 2 people to start the race, had to catch up to the sweep van/bus so they would let us stay on the course.

Nice job, Tony, and great race report!

I finally found a race close by (1.5hrs) to do 5 weeks before my HIM.  It is an Oly and I guess I'll use it more as practice and to build some swim confidence, and test nutrition/transitions etc.  I did a sprint at the same venue last August and really liked the lake we swam in, very calm.  It will be hot there which is good practice, too, since I'm so used to training in this beautiful, cool SF weather and Vineman can range from 60-70's to 90's some years! Yikes!

Jeremy: great race. Awesome time.

Tony: way to haul a$$..... to you and your wife.

 Kim: very nice run.

Nephew lost out in the championship game. Went to a shoot out and they lost on the 5th round of shooters. A great game by both teams.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend.

Hey All...back from sunny florida....Had a great with the family. I'll have to read and get caught up with the last 10 pages or so it seems. Acyally ran 5 of 8 morning with my wife. God florida humidity is a bit*h. I was soaked after 5km!! Did a my first "OWS' if you want to call it that. Swam in the ocean off Ft. Lauderdale, and was petrified that a shark was coming. I can understand why people don't train alone in the ocean. Overall, a great vacation. Going to sleep in tomorrow, one more day off before work. And I'm a bachelor for a day..Family stayed behind in Montreal with her family so let's what Trevor can make for dinner tonight. I'm betting on Cherrios and toast!

For sure, better odds if there others for the shark to chose from   Welcome Back!!

Nice races guys!!

I got a nice ride in today and am feeling really good about my first few rides outdoors this year.  I'll have to go back and look, but I feel like I'm riding at about the same pace as last year's peak.  And I was able to unclip without incident everytime I did have to stop (although I am a member of that club ).

I'm definitely getting the tri bug again. I wasn't sure if I still had the desire, but I"m having a lot of fun w/ the training I've been able to squeeze in lately.

Jeremy congrats on a great run!  Tony great job too, what amazing weather you had!  I was there with the family enjoying the view of the cherry blossoms on Sat.

Just got back from DC.  What a great weekend.  My wife and I just celebrated out 5th anniversary, time flies by too fast.  Just to show how much my wife cares about me..  she bought me the neoprene socks for my race on May 31st (water temp 55f-59f) and some other tri gear.  I can't wait to try everything..  Played some basketball with some friends today.  Based on the way I played, you would have never guessed I played in high school.  It was a little embarrassing but still fun at the end of the day.

Jeremy -- great job!  What do you mean by "tags"?  Was it a chip timed race?

Rob--nice run today. I agree sometimes taking a day off before a harder effort makes for a better work out.  We missed out on the big snow today.  All that fell melted, so I am looking to do my run outside tomorrow morning even if it is in the 20s!

Trevor -- welcome back to the real world.  I give you a lot of credit for OWS in the ocean.  I go to Hawaii every year and can't force myself to do it.

Kim--congrats signing up for the Olympic.  I think the timing is perfect and will give you that extra boost of confidence.  You have been training so much I am sure it will seem easy!

Steve/Tony--I have my first home based CT ride planned for Tuesday.  Looking to do an 60-75minutes.  Any favorite course I should try out?  do you normally set up a competitor?  For what it is worth, I have my final 10K TT in class on Thursday.
