Member ![]() ![]() | ![]() kappie72 - 2008-03-06 3:17 PM Late on the weigh in... Last week 227 This week 227 My major accomplishment for the week happened yesterday. Went to a business lunch which happened to be a buffet at the hotel. All kinds of yummy things on the buffet line, including pasta, pizza, chicken in some kind of creamy pesto sauce, mashed sweet potatoes, etc. I opted for pork tenderloin with cabbage and apples (with as little of the juice as possible), couscous (looked like it had very little oil) and instead of the pasta, I asked them if they could just prepare the veggies from the pasta with no oil (in broth). I got quite a strange look, but he did it for me. And after a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, I was good to go! I was so proud that I didn't have anything bad ![]() Off to the doctor now so he can tell me if I can go back to training. you had me at pizza..... and then again at mashed sweet potatoes.... ![]() |

![]() ![]() | ![]() kappie, I am so impressed. While I have moments of self-control they never involve Buffets. Good for you. That is a huge accomplishment. If I had to go to a buffet for a business reason, my weight would go up 5 lbs. Not only do I indulge in the yummy stuff (I would even reason taht pasta is "healthy"), but then I have way too many desserts. Its been ages since I have gone to a buffet for this reason. Good for you!!! That is a tremendous success and you should be very proud. |

Hey it's day 60 I'll have some pix for you by tomorrow for sure. P.s. I haven't told anyone yet but today I was down to 188.8 Hi All- I've been away on business, just got iin last night. I'm dreading the scale, but I guess I never look forward to stepping on that friggin thing! Abbie ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Josh- Thats great!!!!! Can't wait to see the pics. At my conference I did not eat so well. In addition to being "over-served" at the bar on Monday night....conferences always involve too many hours of cocktails! The day after....my only cure for my massive hang-over was.......a huge basket of french fries! Although I ordered a shrimp and crab papaya salad to go with it, there's balance there right? I never eat friend food, my system can not handle it, so I'm still paying for those fries from Tuesday and probably will not have a full recovery for a few more days.

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So, I'm beginning to think that some alien force has taken over my body. Tonight, I was driving home from the doctor and was starving. I stopped at a Wendy's. My favorite thing to get at Wendy's is the spicy crispy chicken sandwich and fries. I stood there for a few minutes trying to decide if I was going to be good or not. It seriously seemed like an eternity. I decided on the grilled chicken sandwich with no sauce. She was going to ring me up for an order of fries and I was going to let her, but at the last minute I asked for a plain baked potato. I know I could have had a salad, but I DIDN'T WANT A SALAD! But the fact that I walked out of Wendy's with no fried food of any kind, no sauce and no cheese was a huge milestone. And it's been 51 days since I've had a cigarette. Although last Friday I wanted one so bad. Ok...I'm done with the bragging now. So, the doctor has told me no physical activity for another week ![]() |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Great job Kappie!!! That kind of self-control is awesome. Good luck with the tests. Some day I may have to do that as well. It has been 15 years since I went to a doctor and I think of them like vegetables. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 138 today. Last week, I was a wimp and did not weigh in. Strange that I worked out less ate fried foods and did not come back from this trip over 140. No complaints, but this is very odd. Maybe I need more garbage food in my diet!!?? ha ha |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good job Abbie. I never thought about a "Junk Food" diet. It has possibilities, probably not good ones though. |

New user ![]() | ![]() I have had a terrible cold for two days, and still have the cough, but couldn't look at myself if I didn't get to the gym today. So, I did two miles on the eliptical, 50 crunches, and my arms (weight training). And I actually felt better when I left the gym! ![]() ![]() Hope everyone has a great weekend!! |

Unfortunately, there was a big gap between my theory and reality... |

Actually abbie, the fries are the best thing you could have taken for your hangover. The greasier the better. They say that protein, greasy food, even milk will help fight off the left over alcohol and what it is converted into (which produces the hangover effect). I just sucks though we can't eat em without either feeling guilty or without gaining a little. Edited by i146q 2008-03-07 10:28 PM |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hi Everyone, I know it's off the topic but I need to share my despair: it's the wedding day (my friends are getting married not me) and I'm TOTALLY sick. I have an awful cold and sneeze every 3 minutes. What makes it worse is that I wasted previous weekend looking for a dress and got depressed over that. So when it all fell into place I was overjoyed and looked forward to the whole thing. I even secretly thought I'll be looking fine in my dress, new hairstyle and all but now it's a disaster. Despite trying all the medicines and thinking it'll be all ok I woke up today feeling like crap ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks Sherm. I have yet to run that long so it should be interesting to say the least. Ceade: Sorry to hear about the cold and the timing. Maybe by now you are feeling better and can make an appearance. |

LOL.. have a great run. Our long runs usually take us past a Tim's at some point (Tim Hortons) and it's very tempting to stop for a coffee... especially on those -20 days!
