But this is really awful because he started seizing. I know he doesn't want to go down there now, but I can't bare the thought of having the poor cat thrash it out alone in the laundry room tonight. Aaaw hang in there... how are the kids doing? |

They went to bed very sad. DS is crying about how Lionel was his best friend. Lionel did love him. He used to wait for my son to come from school right by the door. On Saturday mornings, he would curl up at my DS's feet while he played video games. DD is sad too, but a little young yet to feel the full impact. Tomorrow will be a very rough day. I am so glad we recently adopted Oliver. So we will not wake up to an entirely catless home. |

Aaaw hang in there... how are the kids doing? Aaaw that is tough... especially since it feels like loosing a best friend. Im sure Oliver will also miss his buddy in his own way. Im guessing they also have school to contend with tomorrow? |

Pam, I cried for a week when Trouble died (he was my 16 yr old orange and white tabby...the first of a long line of orange/white tabbys for me). Hang in there! |

I'd relish the idea of a du, (sorry Judi), but I'm more worried that they're going to let it go forward as a swim and that the swim will be rough...which would be the worst for me. |

Kristen, your monkeys are adorable.

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Nibbs XXIV Blagels - 2008-09-03 2:33 PM Jen! Tell me about PAX! I'm anxious for details. PS - Hi Nibbs! SO MUCH AWESOME!!! We are not going to Japan. My husband got eliminated in Round 3 (Geometry Wars) because he got stuck in the hardest group of 3. Oh well. We still had a great time and got to skip lines and be in the front for panels, concerts, etc because of it. Jerry and Mike are so nice. Kara is really nice too. We got a chance to hang out with Mike and Kara before Peggle when Mike sat down next to my hubby and then they were talking to us. Jonathan Coulton was awesome!! Also the FreezePops were a blast. MCFrontalot sat down behind us and wouldn't make us move to sit closer to the stage. I'm super excited about Spore. It looks really cool. I think this is the game I am most excited about after seeing the developer speech. Fallout3 was playable and very cool. I hear Left for Dead was amazing, but I didn't play it. The new RockBand has some great music. Not so sold on new Guitar Hero. Little Big Planet is pretty cool. I'm also really excited about that. Any games I didn't cover that you want to know about? |

Who was the keynote speaker this year? Did you get to give Force Unleashed, Human Weapon or Prototype (not sure if this one was there or not) a go? What, exactly, is the premise of spore? Bah, I'm so jealous! Must GO TO PAX. Are you guys going to head back next year? Edited by Blagels 2008-09-03 1:51 PM |

Are you guys going to head back next year? Keynote was Ken Levine from 2k/irrational. We couldn't go because it was the same time as the 2nd round of Omegathon. I didn't play Force Unleashed because we have the Xbox Live demo. It's pretty cool. I don't think Prototype was there, but I'm not sure. Spore is a game of evolution. You start as a one-celled aquatic creature and you eat things to determine if you are omnivore, herbivore, carnivore. You get parts and change your creature. Then you become a land creature and do the same. Next you have a tribe, then a civilization, then advanced civilization, then space. Check out their website (spore.com). It looks so awesome and I cannot wait to get to play it for real. The demos were pretty short. |

If we can afford the plane tickets we will most definitely be there. Otherwise, we'll go in 2010. |

I was thinking 2010 as well, since the move to AU is going to be rather costly, so I doubt I'll be doing a WHOLE lot of traveling next year. The year after is looking good though. Would be great to meet up and enjoy PAX with some like-minded people. |

It was really just lots of people hanging out and playing games. A big community. |
