Member 41 Neptune Beach, FL | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread Im in. Robbie Johnson Currently 199. Goal 175. BF% unknown but will try to find out. Do I have to go to a place to do that or is there a way to figure it out at home? As to the earlier question about the run course at IMKY- It is pancake flat other than the climb up the bridge at the very beginning. Being from FL I like the lack of hills on the run and I despise the hilliness of the bike course. |

I know they will at mine, I am just bad about having them check. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread TriAya - 2009-01-07 3:21 PM Question: is the run course hilly too, or just the bike course? Anyone want to pitch in a description of the run course?
The run course is out and back and is downhill both ways! The course goes north to Illinios and back. Maybe I'm wrong but this might be the only M-dot IM event that crosses a stateline - presuming the stateline is the mid-point on the Ohio River bridge with KY on the south side and IL on the north. After the bridge, it goes south into the hood. Very nice run with lots of old houses and some college frat houses and the like. It goes south near Churchill Downs but I don't think you can see CD from the course. This course in 2008 was a little different than in 2007 - I think becuase of a big football game at UK. The course is shady for most of the route....uh...at least for a mid-to-back-of-packer like me who ran when the sun was not directly overhead. ~Mike |

Champion 9430 No excuses! | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread Ooooooohhhh F--- I have to be in for this. I did IMAZ in Nov. on a diet of junk food and pop and brough an extra 30+ pounds to my race weight frame. Since then I haven't missed a meal and actually did plenty of "brick" eating and am up another 10 spot. Will weigh in tonight after I get the munchkins to bed. Its on, quote me now, I have one can of Mountain Dew left and then its pop free until maybe some cola on the marathon course of IM Louisville. Oh crap did I just say that outloud? |

Most are not the most accurate but if using the same scale week in and week out you'll at least have a idea of where you are at |

Champion 9430 No excuses! | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread BamaDC - 2009-01-07 3:08 PM What kind of check-in period does everyone want?(1 wk, 2 wk,..., when ever)
If two weeks is more convientent for some I am down with that but I NEED to report weekly or I get a case of slackeritis and fall prey to the pitfalls of horrible eating. Beat me with a stick if I slack. When I post my weight and goals later tonight you will understand why |

~Mike I guess if I am towards the back of the line for the TT swim start I may hit the water about when the pros are hitting LeGrange. I thought these things had a 2000 max??? What gives |

I got an email from the RD a while back and he said they had a very high percentage of DNSs so they were increasing the field. I did the math last year to see if/when I'd be passed by the pros on the bike course thinking I'd be on my first loop and they'd pass me on their first loop....but mathmatically, based on my estimated start time and my speed and their speed, I predicted I never see them on the course...and I never did either. ~Mike |

I never saw the pro men. When I hit T2, pro time was 8:40. I did get to the top women on the run. |

Expert 713 Lake in the Hills, IL | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread You can put me down for this also. I have never had a hard time getting down to goal weight so this contest will for sure change that. Current weight: 168 Race weight: 158 BF%: unknown I am also in for every 2 weeks. Maybe we should put a little wager on this to make it interesting. I say the winner gets a pie from Bakers Square and a 12 pack of Fat Tire! |

~Mike my goal is also to be at the very end of the swim start line, I was up closer to the front last year and really didn't like that |

Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread I guess I will play along too. During IMKY training last year I gained 6 pounds and then lost 6 during taper. It was so nice to not be hungry 24/7 during taper! Since IMKY I've lost another 7 pounds. Right now I'm 131 and 22% BF (BF was tested in Nov, will be testing again soon....hopefully I'm under 22% already). My "reaching for the stars" goal is to arrive at IMKY 09, 125 pounds or less and 17-18% BF. Should we start our own thread for this topic? Edited by AbbieR 2009-01-08 10:35 AM |
