When my son did the evaulation for ADD, we found out that I too have ADD. LOL, I've managed to get through life just fine without any medication. I think we all have ADD to a point. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

Wait. What?

OK. I'm back. Did you say something?

I was watching... Um.

Wait. What?

Oh yeah. OK... I have no idea what you mean. ADD in the general population?

Wait. What? Where am I?

kns57 - 2008-10-17 8:55 AM Morning Nibbs. Went to a new orthodic guy and I'm feeling really positive about it. Just looking at the way I stood, he mentioned something with my toes. And yes, when I workout my left toes go all tingly and hurt them numb. I didn't even tell him, and he figured it out just looking at me standing. YES! I get my new orthodics on Nov 3rd. Thinking positive thoughts. He has also recommented a physical therapist who will work with my whole lower half of the body to get it all in working order. Now If I Could Just Get A New Body!

I need to get in for an evaluation-I have major foot issues. My mom has gone to a sport therapist that she has been really happy with. They don't push orthodontics, instead they give you a lot of exercises and all that jazz.

I've been the exercise route, but I have really high arches and this is a very common problem for people with high arches (in addition to not being comfortable in shoes that go across the top of the foot). But I would not want anyone to push orthodontics on me for my feet. Don't see how fixing the teeth will help. LOL

Sometimes automatic spell check is a nuisance. Undecided

LOL, orthodontics.

Same exact thing happened to me. I wish I found out sooner, knowing has made my life so much easier.

Evening, Nibbs!

I am pretty sure I have adult ADD.

I used to have orthotics. I have never had orthodontics.

I am having a really nice wine right now...have I mentioned how much I love Wines 'Til Sold Out? (Think Steap&Cheap or ChainLove for wine.)

kaqphin - 2008-10-17 10:07 PM Hi Nibbs!!!

How was the race?

Good swim.... awful T1.... Great ride... bad T2.... Very painful run for the first half and then I seemed to settle into a walk, stumble thing that kind of worked..

But most importantly.. I FINISHED... and Im going to sleep with the medal under my pillow tonight!

Yea Cat!!!

It sounds similar to my first tri...

Transition issues = Being a LONG way from the Bike Start and Finish... having horrible cleats to walk in which meant I was SLOW getting to my rack.. and my cycling shoes are really dying so I had issues getting my feet in due the face the insole kept slipping... in the end I just pulled it out of one shoe to get my foot in..

New shoes and finding someone to teach me a flying dismount would make a HUGE difference!

Other issue was a LONG distance from swim to T1 and it was on a really uneven surface so I didnt jog it as I didnt want any issues that early on...

As for the run... lets just say BAD shin splints...

I do have ADHD (tested and diagnosed and a dang expensive test it was too) I'm not on meds now but I'm considering changing that soon.  Had the PERFECT ADD job for 30 years...I was a firefighter.  It was perfect.

Something new every day...check

Risk taking behavior...check

No long term concentration requirements...check

Above average hand/eye coordination required...check

The ability to not dwell on the immediate (i.e. hurt child etc.)...check

It was perfect.  I have studied this quite a bit and the thought process that this began with the Hunter-v-Gatherer dynamic from 1000's of years ago is really quite fasinating...oh look there is a kitty

Hope everyone has a great weekend...night all

Steve
