Atlantia - 2010-02-05 2:09 PM Well, the snow has begun but it isn't sticking yet. Didn't stop my mother from calling at work and talking to my boss to make sure I was going to get home safe and sound. Talk about embarassing! I wanted to crawl under a rock and die. Edited to add: I haven't lived at home for over a decade, I've been married, bought a house, got a divorce...you know, I'm all grown up and everything. I guess to our mothers we never grow up, but still, I thought it was a bit inappropriate to whine to my boss about the weather.

ROTFLMAO!

There are so many times I want to step in for my "children" but I restrain myself.  I figure that they would not appreciate it at the ages of 32 & 25.

dcon - 2010-02-05 8:15 PM 6 inches of snow last night and it's still coming down. I may have to give up my run and do an extra bike ride, i.e., a little extra love.

Wait, you're on the other side of the world.  How are you getting the same snow the east coast is?  LOL

just don't understand why so many people make French Toast during big snowstorms, because everyone runs out to buy milk, bread and eggs....

We actually did have french toast this morning but it was made with stuff we already had in the house. Honestly, we could go a LONG time without going hungry on the stuff in the pantry and freezer.

"far east" coast. Just a coincidence. We're overdue for a good snow, i.e., 8-10 inches usually happens at least once per winter. I was out shoveling for almost two hours and it still hasn't stopped snowing. Definitely no run outside today. I'm thinking that the pool may not be too crowded with this weather (Saturdays are usually terrible).

I ended up at the health club and did 15 minutes on the bike (treadmills were all busy), 45 minutes on the treadmill (first time in 3-4 years for me you be on a treadmill), followed by 500 meters practicing my swimming skills. All in all, a good day.

We already ran out of Oreos and Cheetos! Hot chocolate, beer, condoms, and all other important snow essentials are still going strong. Its hard to tell with all the blowing and drifting, but I think its about 18" and still coming down fast. So glad I got all my planned runs in already this week.

This weekend is pretty busy for me (including baby shower for our 1st grandchild!)  I will probably only get in an ST session.  But I am still pretty much on track.

I am doing my 1st duathlon on the 13th!  Pretty excited about that!  Laughing

Atlantia - 2010-02-05 8:35 AM Good morning Hearts! I got my love run in this morning, before I get buried in snow. They're predicting about 18-24" now. I'm going to be spending some quality time on the trainer for the next few days. Went to the store last night and got the essentials: frozen pizza, oreos, and beer!

Gee, your essentials are different than most; I guess you have less competition for supplies

I'm ready to hunker down for the weekend.
Different? You mean some people DON"T stock up on frozen pizza and oreos? I know *I* sure did! (Not beer though. I don't like the way it tastes.) Oh, I got chocolate chip cookies too. Ummmmm. Chocolate.

I hope you didn't forget the hot chocolate!
I never forget anything that contains chocolate! LOL Unlike beer, I *heart* chocolate.

You need to try Young's Double Chocolate Stout.  Chocolate flavored beer is yummy!

Just popping in here real quick for an update. . . Slept in this morning (I need to stop staying up so late!) so I missed my group run.  So I did my 12-miler by myself this afternoon.  At least I still got it done and didn't skip it completely!  But yeah, time passes by much quicker when I'm running with other people!

We ended up with about 24" as measured in my backyard; I think there was more elsewhere nearby.

Going in for a measurement:

Snow Angel!

This evening we saw the movie Blind Side.  It is awesome.  I totally enjoyed it.

Tough week at work and life.  That's my excuse for being gone.  I'm still part of this challenge and will help us WIN, WIN, WIN.  Yeah, I'm a little behind, but the beginning of the month is not the end of the month.

The snow angel and the snow bring back memories.  I grew up outside of Buffalo and we always got our fair share of snow.  Did you move your arms (flap them like a bird) to make the angel's wings?  Hard to tell from the pic.
