Who's organizing it? The coach(es) I am working with. I'm not sure how many athletes they are training for CdA right now, but there's a group doing a 4-day weekend training camp up there in a couple of weeks. We'll ride and run on the course. Doubt we'll be swimming on the lake at this point... but one can hope!! I'm psyched, as I've never been there!
Kyla, you are CRAZY for wanting to get in that water before June. That was the coldest water I have ever been in. Get in your own OWS now to get ready. Also, if the water is choppy, all the better. Do NOT wait for a calm lake. Race day in CDA can bring you anything. |

DH told me he and the boys are fishing Sunday morning. I'll have to map quest it now to see just how far it is. Is everyone splitting right after the race on Sunday? |

Veteran 207 | Subject: RE: swbkrun Mentor Group- CLOSED FOR BUSINESS!!! SSMinnow - 2010-04-08 5:14 PM Hey Ryan--do you have an experience with the Garmin 310XT? Tried to use it swimming today and turned off the GPS since I was inside...when I got home no data, no lap data, no nothing when I tried to upload it. Anyone else? Sorry, no experience with the 310... I have the 305 and like it a lot, but I do covet the 310. For us short people, the 305 looks like I strapped a mini-fridge to my wrist, but it works well. Was there no data in the watch itself (can you review the data on the watch like you can with the 305?) or just nothing in an uploaded file on the computer? Sorry I can't be of more help! |

No post in a long time. When I actually remember to check twitter I see he tweets there, so I know he's still around. Haven't talked to him in awhile though. I still talk to Jeremy. Life has him busy as does his training....he occasionally lurks, but found it too hard to keep up with the many pages of posts each day..... |

Sorry I can't be of more help! That is the weird thing. I could see the total elapsed time, but there were no laps saved in the unit and it said I had no history. Read through the manual and there is nothing there either. The only thing I can figure is when I turned off the satellites because I was inside, it somehow screwed up the unit. I normally wouldn't time my swims, but yesterday was one of those crazy MAX effort record all your times days...I fear I will be doing it again. Ugh! |

Expert 1027 | Subject: RE: swbkrun Mentor Group- CLOSED FOR BUSINESS!!! Suzy, a few things on the 310. 1 Try to go into mode, history, and see if you can see the workout in the unit itself. Also check that your ANT+ software is not checked to clear data after import. This will delete workouts off your unit when it is imported. So you now have a Joule 2.0, a 310 and are training with power on a new bike... We know who has been nice in the last year! |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun Mentor Group- CLOSED FOR BUSINESS!!! tahrens - 2010-04-08 3:14 PM Thank you for all the inspires. I am feeling much more fabulous Although I think I did a little damage to my hip with that run so I'm off to sit on a bag of ice for a while. Guess I'll change my nickname from Shark A** to Ice A**. *Cough cough* RYAN, I didn't notice you listing IMCA11 on your bio. Didn't Birdy tell you you were taking his place and racing with me?!??! Geez man. There has to be some male MG representation at that race. Don't leave the spot open to our Canadian members - or worse yet, JOHN!! You know what would happen, Rob would never make it swim time cut off once he's done playing "oops, my bad" with every woman in the water, John is bound and determined to break at least 2 more bikes by then, and Trevor would.......well, let's just say you need to represent. Very nice Sugar. If I wasn't half way through a bag of Doritos and dreaming about next Tuesdays swim I would give you such a tongue lashing. |

I actually live in Calgary. but i'm an Oilers fan. Best moment of my childhood, Steve Smith scoring on his own goal and the Flames getting past the Oilers back in the days of 5 game series in the early rounds. Yes yes yes. that it the best ever hockey game. I remember I was in a hotel room in Calgary watching the game. I grew up in Southern Alberta so I am a Flames fan also. I know they have a great golf game. I had the chance to go to a celebrity golf game and was able to golf with one of the Flames. An unkonwn player at the time. Al McGuiness. Man that guy could drive a golf ball. |

Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: swbkrun Mentor Group- CLOSED FOR BUSINESS!!! Thank you, I've never ran that far before. Any idea on "fueling" for that distance? I'll have my own "tent" area that I go by each loop of the course. I have a 10 gallon jug of Gu Brew, a couple of big boxes of gels, and I am going to get a couple of bags of bagles from the local Dunkin Donuts (I'm in love with their Cheddar Bagle Twists), some 2 litres of flat coke, and some cans of chicken soup. I'll also have some uncrustables (PB&J) and some candy bars/energy bars. Do I need/want protien during that distance? 50 miles in 12 hours is barely a run, but I imagine it will still suck mentally.
