tbcoffee - 2010-10-09 6:25 PM Now that it's not looking good for Lieto, I kinda want to see Crowie run 'em all down!

apparently all the running that lieto did....didn't really help....

if crowie takes a podium that will be amazing....

good god though....Raelert has an amazing run...

lieto did another thing in the past year besides run...he also got older.

Blech!  I have to go to dinner and the philharmonic in a couple minutes......

My prediction, Raelert and Crowie sprint down the chute for the closest IMWC finish ever!!!!!

Anyone see these on the IM FB page..

"#1942 got hit by a referee's motorcycle in Hawi...I was the first person to his side... Had video camera with me...filmed driver of motorcycle (who was driving the Ref) admit to hitting the athlete (Ray Brown?) ... Driver was very SAD, athlete was in shock at first...I don't think he know...s he was...he was shaking slightly ALL over...road rash on legs and lower left back...$18,000 bike ruined...sad situation...He told me had was in 2nd Place in "The Executive Challenge" when it happened... I think Ironman needs to test the eyesight of ALL drivers involved...Hard to understand how the driver actually 'couldn't see' the cyclist.?

Crowie has made up 9 minutes in 16 miles.  I really didn't think he could pull this one off with his place off the bike but I would love to eat my words just to see that finish.

Me too--but for myself, I'm officially calling it no-go for the win, not with only 8 miles to go. Absolutely no way to get 6 minutes up in far less than an hour.

alexander has made up 20+ seconds per mile the last 7 miles.  He'll need to make up about 40 seconds per mile the last 9

Macca was making up a minute per mile, which I believe Carfrae is also doing right now, so it's possible.

broadcasters actually brought up a good point...

even last year when macca was forced to walk...he still ran a faster last 10k than raelert.  He was over 3 minutes back of raelert with more than 10k to go...and only finished 90 seconds back of him.
