englam - 2011-11-08 6:27 AM Some pure misery heading our way. Snow, sleet and some lower temps. Gonna do some runs 3 times mid week I hope the weather is at rock bottom. Perfect environment to test my new Salomon Speedcross 2s. Shooting for a 20 and 10 milers this weekend. Gonna rack up some points if the temp stays down.  "Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war!!"

We have the same coming up. The forecast for tomorrow is "one inch of slush." Fun.

Hey, do I get extra points for running through earthquake aftershocks??? Just wondering. Wink

I don't think I'm going to score any points in the month of November, despite the fact that I'm running almost every day. And I couldn't be happier. Enjoy the crappy weather kids, I'm in shorts!

points keep tricking in.  20's on the morning commute.  Have not scored much yet in the way of "real training".

I am hoping my race on Saturday is too warm for points.  8.5 miles with 3 stream crossings both out and back could get a little cold on the feet by the end.

I finally got points on the board!  Not many but better than nothing.

I told a friend at work about this challenge and that I needed cold weather for points.  Her response..."that's sick".  haha

This is not my year, 3rd day in a row 37 degrees and it is snowing. Maybe I can get a few points tonight.

I ran 4.6 miles last night in 37 degrees, medium wind, and heavy rain. I was in the house for five minutes and my 11 year old declared: "It's snowing!!!!" If I can get over my fall in the dark last week, maybe I can muster up the courage to run again in the dark and earn some quality points. :-) As it is, I'm running noons or early evening before the sun goes down.

The weather here is so nice again, I have flowers coming out on my forsythia!  Can't train right now anyway, as I threw out my back on Monday, and now have a wicked cold.  Maybe next week's weather will be crappier....

Highs are in the mid-50s and high-40s all week, making even a bike ride points-less at lunch. I may have to get up early one of these days to rack em up. If I go before work then there's hope for significant points without too much suffering. And by that I mean, just cold temps with no precipitation. Just how I like it

Happy points-getting to everyone!

Had a whole bunch of snow when I was at work, so naturally I thought I would get home and rack up some points with slush and cold, etc. Got to my house, 25miles away and guess what....no snow. Temp was 34 but I opted for a treadmill run. I will rack some points on Saturday with an easy 20 maybe it will snow before then.lol. Peace out........Yeahhhhhhh!!!!

Success this morning! 60 minute run. 31 degrees when I left, 35 when I got back, 6 mph wind. I'm on the board for this week. :-)

I hope everyone has a great day outside today.

Oh I missed that you fell. That sucks. Damn that ice is hard too. I find that running scared that you are going to fall is a good way to learn to run super smooth though.

Missed out on snow points yesterday while traveling.  Might set the alarm for early to wake up and spin in the cold but I doubt it!

haha, your loss is my gain!

I got a few piddly points the other day. But I was too leery of running on ice and leaves to stay out long. If there's snow on the ground at least I get some sure footing. Warming now but next week...chilly stuff returneth!
