So I told my ex that I do not agree with her taking the kids to VA. She told me how she will file for child support unless I let them go. This was the first of the things she is using to emotionally blackmail me. The second and the one I was most mad at was when she told me that the county that she wants to move into was had zero rapes in the last 5 years so if I make my girl stay here I am going her 100% chance of being raped. And yes she did say that word for word and she meant it. Seriously she is telling me if I don't let them go I am a bad dad because I will be letting my girl get raped. that is completely nutso. not filing for child support, that is her right, but the second part is insane sauce. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #180 Degrees (Turn Around, Every Now and Then) OK, I know they didn't have protein bars and drinks in paleo times, but would I be ruining everything if I added some to the planned "clean" diet? Is it all or nothing or if I was 80-90% good with SOME processed stuff - or beer/coffee? |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #180 Degrees (Turn Around, Every Now and Then) I realized that I get very few veggies and fruit in my diet. Almost all strickly carbs and protein. Not good. Like for real. How many veggies are in a taco bell taco... Next to zero. |

Teejay can you confirm this? why do you think that? a plant-based diet is supposedly the best. I don't know if that is true or not but I know that I LOVE my meat. I think if you are eating whole foods and you are getting all of your nutrients and you feel good that is the way of eating for you. I would die without my chicken. I only eat red meat once or twice a week. Chicken, tuna, turkey are my staples. i could never be a vegetarian cause i love meats too, but i think mostly based on the diets our meat are raised on, plant-based diet is supposedly best for you, heart health wise. i could also not be paleo. why are whole grains not allowed on paleo? i understand no bread or pasta, but why not oats and rice? are beans allowed? i haven't had dairy in like a MONTH. No beans. Certain legume like veggies are not allowed either. Honestly I do not know all the science but I found that my digestive system became horribly inflamed when I ate grains, oats, etc. Dairy kills me. I feel sick and so bloated when I eat them. Three years of going to docs, having tests, showed nothing. So I don't have any identifiable medical condition to back any of that up but I know how I feel and what it does to my body when I eat them. So I decided to try the Paleo diet because it was something that did not have all the things I knew were making me feel like crap. But obviously there is some science behind it. And the meat I eat ... at least 75% of the time I get organic poultry and grass fed beef. It's a start! diverticulitis? i guess a lot of people have sensitivities to those things, surprised that broccoli doesn't bother you too. just wonder why some unprocessed foods are not considered paleo, it's interesting stuff. it's really a ketogenic diet, too, it sounds like. i will stick to 80% clean for now because i really like the time and energy to go full out, but may go back to a true clean diet one day...i loved how i felt and looked on it! |

Is it all or nothing or if I was 80-90% good with SOME processed stuff - or beer/coffee? if your diet is 50% processed foods and you cut down to 10%, there is obviously going to be significant benefits to your health. it's your diet, you won't "ruin" it. but watch your protein bar ingredients, some of those things are just glorified candy bars. the guy next to me eats one every day. he looks 8 months pregnant |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #180 Degrees (Turn Around, Every Now and Then) It's kind of scary, that if you don't make an effort, how easy it is to fall into an almost entirely processed diet. It's easy to buy fast food or even when you go out, the healthy entrees are still whoafully low on veggies. Maybe a tiny portion of steamed veggies on the side. I made turkey chili and had that for a 4-5 days. A healthy chili, but it still was only basically turkey, beans and tomatoes. No greens... |

Champion 10550 Austin, Texas | Subject: RE: TAN #180 Degrees (Turn Around, Every Now and Then) Jim, There's also a slightly modified Paleo that Tony and I are doing - the Paleo Diet for Athletes that DOES allow for the ingestion of gels and/or energy drinks/salt supplements immediately before and during exercise, then depending on how long/how intense your exercise session was for the next hour or two AFTER exercise, you can have things like sweet potatoes, yams, rice, bread, etc. Otherwise, it's a switch to try and eat nothing processed. So far, my digestive system has been very, very happy with the switch. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #180 Degrees (Turn Around, Every Now and Then) OK, what about canned/frozen? Cavemen didn't have freezers, but it's easy to keep my freezer stocked with brocolli floretts, grean beans, and corn and leave the leafy greens to be fresh. |
