Thanks ! I saw it in feet and went yikes

Yes Stava is free. I have not yet figured out everything it can do but it's cool. Is does upload power, heart rate etc.

I discovered when Lance starting posting his workouts there.

You seem to be able to create groups, share rides.....Maybe one eventual alternative to get Bryan back in the group is to bring the group elsewhere.

A friend of mine crashed pretty badly yesterday.  He's okay, but broke his hip and is undergoing surgery today.  He's actually lucky to be alive as some thick bushes prevented him from slamming head on into a rock wall.

Ride safe out there.

. I'm sorry. Had a friend hurt really badly earlier this year on the bike. Was hit by a car. I have changed my approach to cycling since. I ride with lights on the front and a red flashing light on the back, even in the daytime. I highly recommend considering at least the rear light. Dinotte is a great brand of bike lights, very powerful.

I am really getting the itch to start riding again and I do not feel safe around here at all (no shoulders, lots of massive trucks, many hauling, etc).  Which is really too bad cause the terrain is awesome.  But I was thinking I was going to try that, use the red blinky in the back.  I also have a mirror that I have owned for like years now and I might actually install it.  I found one road that seems to have very low traffic on it so I might give it a try

I love riding hills.  Give me a hill any day.  I lived in Oregon for a long time and every route we did was hilly.  And then in Tucson there was always a hill in the route somewhere.

I just joined Strava and man it's awesome! I highly recommend it.

I have a few KOMs, but we have some excellent Cat 1 guys here, so no illusions of grandeur.

I just joined.   We should all follow eachother...  like a healthy facebook.  Mine is Chris Menjou, but no rides posted yet

Have a race setup question for tomorrow.  Using a speedfil A2 up front for liquids.  Don't need the frame bottle.  From an aero perspective, better to remove the frame cage entirely, or leave it on with an empty bottle?  Thoughts?

Wonder if I can get a KOM for the swim :-)

Empty bottle vote here.

Well, looks like I am keeping the bottle but filled. Prepping the bike, tightening the screws, the front stem mount screw hole is stripped and won't hold tight

I just joined Strava a few days ago and love it.

My username is Jason Nakayama.

I went after a couple of hill segments on Friday...only to find out that both segments didn't end where I thought they did...LOL.  One I finished the segment but was coasting for about 30 seconds before the segment actually ended...and one of them I didn't even finish the segment because it went into a park.

I can’t up load an avatar.  Maybe the free version doesn’t allow that.  I don’t get the Segment thing.  Also the elevation in my rides went up.  Got to go run now will play around with it later.

Fred D - 2012-06-24 7:19 AM I'm following James, Jason and Chris on strava now. Actually looks like an awesome way to follow your friends rides. Again if you want in this we could also make a 'group' on strava for BT offshoots. Anyone from this or past groups old join. Might be another way to avoid the noise of the main forums? I will make a group, join if you want.

I think you've started something......

Hope Bryan joins in

Well, almost got it. Went 2:31:48. Swim was longer this year Last year lots of guys went sub 20 (was short) this year no one did, and my swim was about 5 minutes slower. Would have easily gone sub 2:30 on that ourse. I am in the same swim shape......But did set an oly PR by just about 6 minutes (actually, 11 since I added 5 to the swim ), and if the 10k was accurate (should be, it's an out and back) set a 10k pr whether in an oly or open. Good day! 13/43 AG
