I'm doing the Florida HIM in May, possibly the HIM in Augusta in September and then IMFL in November.  If you have room, I would love to be in the group.

Name: Jason

STORY:  3rd year of triathlon and endurance training.  Started out with my first 25k, 30k, half marathon, and marathon in late 2009.  Bought a road bike during that time, and took the plunge into tris.  Did a couple of sprints, olys, time trials and another half and full marathon in 2010.  Also started training with power in 2010.  Oh...and I live in Hawaii btw...

In my second season, I really wanted to put everything together and go from a rookie who didn't really know what he was doing, to getting more competitive.  I had a great year, and I raced a lot (for me anyway)...14 times.  A lot of the same races where I did much better, and added a few more races including my first HIM, and a couple of long distance cycling road races.

2012 is basically just a little more focused version of 2011.  I'm cutting out a few races to focus on the big ones.  Mainly a HIM in June, and a cycling race (mountain climb) in August...both of which I did last year.

Training is a huge part of my life now.  It keeps me balanced and keeps me out of trouble.  I truely enjoy my training time and the friendships I've made through it.

FAMILY STATUS: GF is also a triathlete.  No kids, she has a cat.

CURRENT TRAINING: Building up to the Hawaii 70.3 on June 2nd where I plan to drop Lance on the bike...  With 9 weeks to go, I'm in the biggest volume weeks...right around 14-16 hours.  3x swim, 3x bike, 6x run.

2011 RACES:  Four running races including a marathon, 1 sprint, 2 olys, 1 HIM, 3 cycling TTs, 3 cycling road races.

2012 RACES:  Already completed a 8.15 mile running race and 10 mile cycling TT.  Up next is another cycling TT & Team TT, an Oly, HIM.  Over the summer...possibly a couple of road races used as hard training days.  Then my cycling A races in late August and early September.  After that, I have the option to train for another marathon, but I'm leaning towards an off season where I still train, but just focus on rebuilding for next season.  Here in Hawaii, we can train and race year round...and I have been doing so the past 3 years.  I think I need a couple of months where I just can S/B/R without having to worry about a race.

WHAT WOULD MAKE ME A GOOD MENTEE:  I'm active on the forums, and I'm a sponge for knowledge.  I log every workout, and love to do analysis on my progress.  I've been training with power for nearly 2 years.

Great job on the weight loss Tom.

I'm in a similar situation.  Lost about 40 pounds 3 years ago...but am still struggling to lose the last 10-15.  But who isn't?

Updated bio for Spring 2012

NAME: Tiffany/Tif

STORY: I have just started my fourth season of triathlon, completing my 3rd Half Ironman race on Sunday. I have my sights set on a full marathon and the Ironman distance for 2013.

I like to have and follow a plan and am very committed to doing what I need to do to take care of my training. My weakness is the bike, but I have improved during the training cycle leading up to the HIM. I'm not the fastest runner, but I have improved tremendously since beginning this venture. I am a very experienced swimmer and have a lot of knowledge of the sport.

FAMILY STATUS: Partner of 10 years who also shares this triathlon passion with me. We have 2 Boston Terriers (Torrey- 7 years; Tanner- 11 months) who would both do triathlons if they could.

CURRENT TRAINING: About to put together a 13-month roadmap to Ironman Texas 2013. That's where this mentor group will come into play Smile.

I'll enjoy some downtime and light training this week, though, before getting back into full swing of things.

2011 RACES: Houston Half Marathon (PR at the time); Ironman 70.3 Texas (PR & HM PR); Tejas Triathlon (sprint; race PR); Shadow Creek Ranch Sprint Triathlon -Relay (swim); Bridgeland Sprint Tri (race PR).

2012 RACES: Ironman 70.3 Texas (Bike & overall race PR 6:27:04); nothing else on the schedule yet, but I will have a few sprints and hopefully some running events nailed down on the schedule soon.

WEIGHT LOSS GOALS: I am currently 5'6" and weigh 137 lbs. This is down 19 pounds since early December. I was at 136 for the HIM in 2011. My ideal race weight is 128. I plan to be there by early June.

WHAT WOULD MAKE ME A GOOD MENTEE: I am a diligent workout logger, so my logs on BT are always up-to-date. I check in multiple times daily and love to read the insights others have to contribute. I'm no expert by any means, but I do like to help others if I can, especially in regards to swimming.
