I saw that.  I am really hoping that they were right.

i'm not in iowa but it's gonna be amazing here too, perfect for howl-o-scream!

Morning everyone.

Does it make me a bad person that I laughed?

Was back on my bike after my crash and crusing on the same trail where I fell.  Came up to a blind turn and there was someone going pretty slow in front of me so I slowed down rather than fly by her around a blind turn.  Some dude comes flying by the both of us not saying a word (wearing his full matching kit with shoe covers of course...) goes around the turn, then enters the section where I fell, a really curvy section.  I was thinking to myself, that was as fast as I was going, next thing I know, bam, he drops his bike in the exact same spot.

Now if he hadn't been an impatient a-hole and flown by me and another person around a blind turn I probably wouldn't have laughed but since he did, I did.

I did stop to make sure he was ok at least, he was fine just a bit of road rash.

Hehe, nice! What trail was this, btw? There is one part of the Mt. Vernon trail that is notorious for bad crashes. A friend of mine crashed there during the century I did in May and he had to be taken to the hospital to get stitches. His bike was all right and his helmet was not broken (I mean, he got a new one, but it didn't crack in half or anything), but the piece inside that adjusts to fit your head had broken and gouged him in the temple!

Right behind Big Wheel bikes, is a really curvy section, 3 or so tight switchbacks and always leaves on the ground.  I think that is considered W&OD but it could be the Custis Trail, they change names a couple times in Arlington.

Yes, that's the Custis Trail - I HATE that part of the trail - I basically hate the Custis Trail in general, but those switchbacks scare me. (It connects to the W&OD but is not actually part of it)

The Mt. Vernon trail goes along the river, through Old Town and out to...you guessed it, Mt. Vernon. You can get to it from the W&OD via the Custis Trail.

I'm really tired today, though I'm not sure why.  I also want soup for lunch, despite the warm weather.

Is it Nov 4th yet? I'm sick all of the political threads. Am I just an idiot for not really being interested in politics? I never really have been.

I'm kinda interested in politics, just not the intolerable amounts of BS that comes with an election.

The IT dept. would disagree.  They would say "There is no god, but the IT department.  We are the all powerful entity who controls your every move at work."

Later everyone.  Have a good Friday and a good weekend.

Okay, just wondering if it was just me who didn't analyze all this crap to death. I watched 3/4 of the first debate. And I simply don't watch the news, as I don't watch much TV. I just don't really care. I know where I stand on issues and pick the candidate who most closely matches. Simple.

well shoot... you too can have my schedule... go to seminary for four years, and you too get the privilege of being on call 24/7... one day off per week, 50+ hours worked each week... and four weekends off per year.

I do love being a pastor... not overly fond of the schedule at times... I got home last night at about midnight.

I had to laugh yesterday.  We went to the new house to finish installing the hardwood floors and they must have been out asking people to put campaign signs in their yards (which is against our covenant, strangely, but what do I care).  Anyway, we are mostly undecided (I think my wife is leaning towards McCain - but we don't disclose who we voted for to each other).  The house to the South of us has an Obama sign and the house to the North of us has a McCain sign.  There we sit, right in the middle.
