tpnguyen10 - 2011-01-22 7:12 AM All I have to say is wow!!!!!! The Trek SC is a beast!!! Rode 70km today on the new ride.  What a world of difference between my Equinox 7 and the SC.  It's like upgrading a pinto with a maserati.  I was going faster with less effort than the old bike.  I'll have to put some more miles on it to confirm this.

The technology in this bike is well worth the $$$.

My final bike set up:

Very nice.  That is a super fast bike, hehe now I get to nitpick.Laughing

Super aero bike, ditch the rear hydration, it's an air hog.  Investigate the specialized water bottle and put it on the seat tube.  You might be able to get it to fit perfectly in the triangle to make a faring a 'la P4.  If you need another water bottle check out the torpedo mount and put it between the aero bars.

Where are those cables going from the aero-bars, not sure where the internal routing starts on the bike but could you hide the exposed cables behind the bars?  They seem to be sticking out in the wind there.

Oh and always for pictures put it in the big ring '; )

Thanks for the tips.

Funny you mention the big ring... after all the money I spent on the bike, my mechanic messed  up the cable tension on the front derailleur, so while riding the first 5k this morning I couldn't shift to the big ring.  I thought it was the shifters or maybe I didn't know how to use the R2C.  I was so focused on shifting that I veered over a gutter and almost crashed.  yeessshh.

some other angles of the bike:

/QUOTE]

Are you 100% SRAM?  Reason I ask is I had RTCs on my RU with Shimano and it did not work at all.....I ended up getting rid of the RTCs and getting DI2s instead.....

What is going on with the RU?  Are you going to give it another go this season?

RR up here --> http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=239960  It's old news, but it's done.

I have been AWOL this week on a trip to Dallas and did not check back in until late Thursday.  And no training whatsoever all week.  I did run 7 miles today, ramping up to tri training in 2 weeks when I start an 8 week plan for an Oly on 4/3.

Good to see all the activity/discussion in the group this week.  I think I am caught up for now.....

Tony, funny you are talking about his cables.  I was looking at the front thinking how clean it looks...compared to mine.  I have cables going all over the place.  I have tried to tie them closer together in the front, but still looks like a mess.

Do you have a front shot of yours?  I know his SC has better internal cable routing than my PX.  Just curious to see what I may need to do on mine.

I don't have internal cable routing at all.  But I'll take a picture and post.  The objective is to make sure you just barely have enough cable to turn the bars.

Over the next few months I am going to start working on some lower cost ways to make my bike faster.

1. Make sure I get the fastest tires available http://www.biketechreview.com/tires_old/images/AFM_tire_testing_rev9.pdf
2. Latex tubes
3. Chainring cover (making it out of plastic probably
4. Figuring out how to get rid of all round spacers, either by finding aero ones, or by getting bars that lift the pads and extensions up, the risers are more aero than the spacers.
5. Just picked up a Specialized virtue aero bottle, fits in the triangle right above the BB perfectly on the PX makes it a nice faring like the P4
6. Cheapest of all, getting on my bike at least 5 times a week.

I'm teasing you silly, you just took 2 weeks off!  Of course do whatever you can to get faster.  The bike guy told Paul the best way to get faster was to drop 10lbs....

how are you able to capture what each of the following takes away from that time?  in time and watts.

1. Make sure I get the fastest tires available

dalessit - 2011-01-23 1:03 PM Oh and tbh on the bike if you can make it faster why not?  Obviously you have to put the time in but if I have to work a few watts less to get the same speed (or faster) why wouldn't I?

I'm teasing you silly, you just took 2 weeks off!  Of course do whatever you can to get faster.  The bike guy told Paul the best way to get faster was to drop 10lbs....

What's BT PIzza? or don't I want to know?

Pizza = sex  (used in COJ)
