Artemis - 2012-12-10 5:43 PM Got my 30 minutes in today.  I ran on a treadmill.  Didn't feel like it, but it got done

Good job Jen!  I have been lacking motivation as well, but the challenge is pushing me.  Sorry you didn't enjoy it though

Meh.  Gotta get through these tough runs to have the great ones.

True story!  Makes the good ones all the better.

I went for a 20 min dog walk, then got on the drainer for 45 minutes.  I see the PT again tomorrow.  I don't think I'm quite at the run/walk stage yet, but hopefully by Friday.

I was a bad girl and did not get my 30 in yesterday.  I had my parents over for dinner.  Dinner to the old folk means: dinner, clean up, watching a movie, staying late.....   Had to remind them that I have to work in the morning to get them to leave.  Got to love retired folks!

Yeah I am pleased with my swim, it's been month since I did an OWS last one was HIM Cairns and that was warm water with a 2000 of my closest friends including Macca!  You know what it is, the thought of IM is so DAUNTING, OVERWHELMING.   If it wasn't called Ironman it wouldn't feel so bad.  How about a really long triathlon.

I read somewhere that HIM is like double Olympic but Ironman is it's own thing.  Not 2x HIM or whatever.  I don't know if that helps or not!

The bike - it is what it is.  I'm really concentrating this week on building speed during the two/three weekly rides and then just hammering through 2.30 on the weekend - probably saturday on my birthday!  Happy bloomin' birthday haha!

My birthday is on Christmas.  Last year I had a two hour run on my training plan.  I made it into my Christmas Day Half Marathon.  I wrote a mini race report for it (aid stations sucked, etc.) and generally had a good time with it!

If your bike endurance is good, you will be fine.  You don't have to hammer it to make the cutoff but you do have to complete the distance!  Also, without bike endurance, your run will suffer.

I think that you have to be more determined than anything to do this.  You seem hard headed so you've go it covered!

I'm jumping on this Jogo challenge bandwagon!  I have had seriously lacking training for months.  Woke up Sunday morning and ran with some buddies, that has really invigorated me to get back into it.  So since Friday, I've done at least a half hour of something every day.  Today was computraining, really good work out, we did a mix of short, hard intervals and then 2 really long (9 and 5 minutes, respectively) at threshold power.  Doing a make up computraining tomorrow and my goal is to GO SWIMMING with my training group Thursday a.m.  I haven't been swimming since AUGUST 25, my last race. OMG!!! Surprised  This Thursday is the day I get back in the water.

Way to go to all you IM/HIM-ers with your hard core training.  It is sooooo impressive!

jobaxas - 2012-12-10 3:50 PM Well I'm really pleased with the running fairly pleased with the swimming more OWS in horrid conditions will help. Bike still wind trainer until the New Year then fix that. Still in two minds about IM but keep training then see. Yanti is my inspiration here I think I will regret a DNS more than I would regret a DNF

Jo, you are such a driven athlete, I am always in awe of your motivation and commitment to training. You will go out there and you will get it done!!

I'm signed up to do a Secret Santa exchange on DailyMile.  I got a female runner from Hawaii in the drawing.  Our spending limit is $15.

Would you be happy if you received something like this from a secret santa?

I was a thinking of the one with the sun.

I have a necklace from them that like a lot.

Ok so, clearly I am  not the girliest of girls (shocker, I know) and I sort of scoffed when I won jewelry at a couple 5Ks BUT I have since put them on a chain and like it a lot. So, I think she would like it.

Thanks Manatees - I am always surprised, pleasantly, that you think of me as a committed kind of person and hard headed enough to do this race.  I soooo don't think of myself that way - then when I look at my training for a week I see why - yeah it's a bit hard core.

Which leads me to something else that REALLY pizzes me off.

So - naughtily - I weigh myself every day.  So on Sunday to Monday I lost 2lbs - yay.  Tuesday, 1lb on Wednesday another lb on.  I have no idea how I can possible gain weight when I train so much and so hard.  I don't diet, I don't eat overly healthily but I believe my calories in are less than my calories out.  I know while training for IM that's what I should concentrate on, diet shouldn't factor in really.

But Dammit makes me cross.  Anyway back to another day of healthy choices - I'm doing a lot of nuts, they are probably calorie loaded but they are good stuff!  I will try harder today.  Grrr.

Oh training today - well OWS with johnny and the gang - terrifying but good.  Get there early and get a 500m warm up in.  It's going to be over 85F today so no lunchtime run, figure I'll do it after the OWS tonight.

LOVE THE MANATEES.
