Good morning.  24 hours.  Yikes!  Well it has been a good week down here.  I have had to deal with a few medical "issues" but hey what's a race without a something cropping up.  To answer the question above the SN drop is at "Alvin's T shirts" I believe.

After doing the full 1.2 swim yesterday I have learned a few things.  Swallowing salt water makes me VERY sick, jelly fish hurt but not as bad as I thought, and I overheat easily and should have bought a sleeveless wetsuit.  Oh wellSmile

After attending the dinner and race meeting I am ready to race.  Nothing can be as brutal as sitting through all of that.  By the way if you are curious who I am I was one of the last few people standing up for the "biggest loser" challenge wearing the light blue Ironman t-shirt and white visor.  I lost 60 pounds when all is said and done.

I think I am going to take this morning off and skip the swim.  I look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow.  Stay safe and sane today.

Do special need bags need to be at Alvin's today or can we turn them in tomorrow. What all needs to be checked in today besides the bike?

Special needs is dropped off on race morning.  Today you need the bike gear bag, run gear bag, and bike.  You will be able to "set up" your bike on race morning so you just need to bring the bike itself.

I just called the MyGPS Athlete tracker company.  They are NOT coming to IMFL.  So there goes my idea on my family tracking me in real time during the race.  Just will have to depend on Ironman.com to track me. Oh well.

Still debating on a throw away jacket for the beginning of the bike.

I had to order my athlete tracker in advance and mail it back.  I am not a big fan of the interface.  I tried it out on a few training runs and it is not all that user friendly.  However, it is better than nothing until trakker comes out with their product.  I guess I will just clip the race belt to the bike and power it up before the race so it links up and then put my racebelt on when they bring me my bike. I am not doing the throw away jacket because I think it is actually supposed to be pretty warm when we get out (low 60's) and warming rapidly. I am going to use arm warmers and I have a throw away in my special needs run though just incase.

Do we put our bike shoes and helmet in our bike bag that is checked today?  I have heard a few different things and I am so confused.......I am obviously one of the 1300 first timers

BTW...I am skipping the swim today.  Got a bad neck burn yesterday from my wetsuit, so I would rather not make it worse before tomorrow.  I know what my first Ironman pain will be

Have a good day everyone....tomorrow is our day!!!

Althete guide says no access to transition bags in the morning.  Which is different than last year since i worked T1 and had people coming and putting stuff in their bags.  Not doing the throw away jacket. Will take my arm warmers.  taking my fuel belt for the run so i had to fill up the bottles now.

Double checked everything. ready to head down and turn in the stuff.

If I said I was not nervous about all of this, I would be lying big time.

Good luck BTers!  It was just a year ago that I did IMFL - my first IM!  What a great experience!

Race like you trained, and you'll be fine.
