I'm signed up to do a Secret Santa exchange on DailyMile.  I got a female runner from Hawaii in the drawing.  Our spending limit is $15.

Would you be happy if you received something like this from a secret santa?

I was a thinking of the one with the sun.

I have a necklace from them that like a lot.

Ok so, clearly I am  not the girliest of girls (shocker, I know) and I sort of scoffed when I won jewelry at a couple 5Ks BUT I have since put them on a chain and like it a lot. So, I think she would like it.

I would. I enjoy running/tri jewelry.

Thanks Manatees - I am always surprised, pleasantly, that you think of me as a committed kind of person and hard headed enough to do this race.  I soooo don't think of myself that way - then when I look at my training for a week I see why - yeah it's a bit hard core.

Which leads me to something else that REALLY pizzes me off.

So - naughtily - I weigh myself every day.  So on Sunday to Monday I lost 2lbs - yay.  Tuesday, 1lb on Wednesday another lb on.  I have no idea how I can possible gain weight when I train so much and so hard.  I don't diet, I don't eat overly healthily but I believe my calories in are less than my calories out.  I know while training for IM that's what I should concentrate on, diet shouldn't factor in really.

But Dammit makes me cross.  Anyway back to another day of healthy choices - I'm doing a lot of nuts, they are probably calorie loaded but they are good stuff!  I will try harder today.  Grrr.

Oh training today - well OWS with johnny and the gang - terrifying but good.  Get there early and get a 500m warm up in.  It's going to be over 85F today so no lunchtime run, figure I'll do it after the OWS tonight.

LOVE THE MANATEES.

Our bodies are facsinating machines.  With all the variables it's not as easy as calories in vs calories out. Our bodies will actually hold on to weight if the body thinks it's being starved. I get on the scale weekly and am a bit dissapointed when the number goes up but I don't get too hung up on it because it could just as easily be down the next week.  It could be something as simple as water weight.

I think I'm coming down with a cold. Woke with a little irritation at the back of the throat and been sneezing all day. I let myself sleep in an hour hoping the rest would help, then got up and did 41 min on the drainer hoping to sweat it out.

Very nice. Your cat looks like my cat.

I won't be posting pictures of our decorating. My 6 year old has been doing all of it. I did talk him into putting the wise men in a far corner of the living room so that they could slowly "make their way from afar" to the nativity. He's planned their route for the next two weeks -- it's not very direct. :-)

What a cutie-pie. Happy birthday, E! What does she think of the tree?

She loves the Christmas tree.  We ended up not putting on ornaments because she kept trying to eat the glass balls.  Or she'd chew on the wire with her teeth and pull it out of the pull.  This year, it's lights, ribbon, and bows.  Actually kind of cute.

I'm feeling a little sick right now. I have a practice Skype with the department chair in 75 minutes. The real thing is on Thursday, with the whole department (okay, only three people, but still.) My lunch isn't settling very well. :-(

You can do it!!  You must be the expert on this if you are giving a talk to the department.  I know how stressful it is.  Take deep breaths and try to relax as much as you can.

Have confidence in yourself and BE YOURSELF! You'll be great. If it's what God has planned for you it will happen.

It is stunning. The shade of red changes from a pink-ish to very red through the year.

Ohhhhhhhh maaaaaan!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Snickerdoodle cupcakes?? Yum! Then again, I don't have any room here for cupcakes. I bought two bags of Hershey kisses on impulse. One is cherry filled and the other mint. I keep doing the 2 no 3 no 4 for me, 2 for you. Oops I ate all 4 I had better grab 3 more for the road ... I mean 4 more.

Yup. We stopped at Bux the other day when the domed-clear-cup with a bag of candies inside was the "sale" of the day. Well I needed a new cup at work because my old clear cup was broken so I grabbed it. The problem is the candies inside! I "try" to pour one or two out of the bag and end up with 4 or 5. Why bother putting them back, right?

Wow, ya'll have been busy. I had today off, so I was able to double up this morning before my Dr appt. Got my Jogo time in.

Jen - The baby is too cute. Enjoy Christmas with her, it is really special at that age.

Felicia - I hope your stomach settles. I agree with TJ, if it is in His plan, it will happen. And you will do awesome, relax and be yourself.

TJ - That pic of the sunset is really awesome. How blessed you are to see that on a daily basis? I hope you fight off the cold before it grows.

Salty - Please tell me you're not one of those dog owners that dresses up the pooch on a regular basis. I have a mental picture of the neighborhood dogs laughing at the one in a sweater.

Brie - Welcome to the Jogo challenge!

Jo - Yours is one of the logs that I check nearly daily. Your swimming is something I can only dream about.  Maybe you might want to lay off the scale a bit, try weening yourself from daily to every other day, to once a week. Your body is going to continually adjust, heck probably hour by hour. Trying to keep track of it all the time is like nailing Jello to a wall. Just keep doing the training that you are doing, because it is working!
