ebshot - 2012-07-26 7:18 AMI'm in a bad mood.  No reason to be grumpy but I am.  I'm exhausted too.  Just one of those craptastic days.  But I did have a good run this morning.
Sometimes putting it out there is all it takes to make it a bit better. Totally understand the sentiment, I have those days too. Hope you are feeling better soon. (hug)

We are having an opening ceremonies party at our house tomorrow and my SO and our friend B came up with these drinking game rules:

I have to get up really early Saturday morning (to leave for a bachelorette party of all things) so I think I will just be casually observing....thank goodness.

Dude, Salty, I think I'd be trashed about 15 minutes in.  I can't handle drinking like that anymore!

Yeah, I'm thinking the sob stories and Michael Phelps (in general) will be the end of them.

Hiya Manatees!!  I am on vacation - visiting family and introducing them to E.

We (E, A, and I) all went for a run this morning.  I'm starting half marathon training!!  Have a 5k on Saturday that is part of A's family reunion.  Not a race, but it is pretty fun.

Awesome that the family reunion includes a 5K!!!! Also, a great way to kick of HM training! When is the race?

Yeah! Lovely family run and have fun at the 5K, too. I'm really excited you're back on track for another running race.

I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that Phelps wasn't going to march in the opening??

I'd be wasted in no time flat too.  I am too old to drink like that.

Pretty much!  There's going to be a lot of talking about Michael Phelps.  And there are always tons of sob stories during the opening ceremonies.  I could do this with water and be super hydrated.

Does the Olympic Games logo drive anybody else crazy? Like you want to put the broken bits together to make something sensible, like, I don't know, a square?

I would actually HAVE a water party like that, but Ceremonies start at like 3:45am here. I mean, I intend to be up (like I'm going to sleep anytime anything Olympics is on at all for the next few weeks) ... but ...

Let me share with you the great wisdom of my CA running partner, Faeron (when I complained about my hands being frozen):

"Look, batch, you don't need your hands to run."

Hey all! Crazy-busy-long day at work for me yesterday meant no workout.  I DID stay caught up on Manatee chatter (do manatee's chatter?) via email, though.  It was the bright spot in a loooooong day.

Getting a surprise visit from the in-laws starting this afternoon thru Sunday morning so I'm sure that will put a damper on my training Yell. Had to rush out last night (after a 14 hour day at work) to buy groceries! I was hoping to get in an OWS this weekend to "get the feel" for my race next weekend.  Not sure that's going to happen either because a) I'm being invaded by in-laws and b) there is a race at my OWS hole this weekend.

Right, right? I actually don't remember any other olympic mascots ... maybe Sydney had a koala or a Kangaroo? I do remember the cool "We are the World" type song they had for the Seoul Olympics, though.

I did take my ex-MIL (she's still my Mama, though! to now!) to the Salt Lake City Olympics to watch ice skating because she loved ice skating so much and followed all the skaters every year. It was so awesome.

It's interesting to me how opinions change after the fact!  Many in the media HATED the mascots initially, said the Vancouver Games were shaping up (before they had even started) to be the WORST games ever.  Now the mascots were great, and they were up among the best games ever!!  I can tell you, I volunteered and had a blast.  One of the best experiences of my life.  (And I only just realized that the logo for London was the year.  I didn't look too hard, to be honest, but it should not be difficult to pick out what a logo means...)

Every party you go to is either wholly epic or something epic happens. I wonder what the connection is.

In other news, WTH is up with my weird capitalization lately?

In other strange news, my BF and I went to a Hallowe'en party dressed as Brangelina. I wonder if I can find the pics somewhere ... other than that we are much huger than they are, and actually look like Janeane Garofalo and Chris O'Donnell (him a dead ringer), everyone did know who we were right away.

HAHAHAHA

Does the Olympic Games logo drive anybody else crazy? Like you want to put the broken bits together to make something sensible, like, I don't know, a square?

ME! OMG ME! It's so...1990s. I am not sure what is worse, the logo or the mascots. Vancouver did the mascots RIGHT. I have my own quatchi sitting on my couch, in fact.

I LOVED the Vancouver mascots!  They were so cute. The Beijing ones were also a little strange.

Best games ever, solely because of this:

Go Canada!

Two of those chicks actually look like you. The one on the left, and the one on the right.

We are having an opening ceremonies party at our house tomorrow and my SO and our friend B came up with these drinking game rules:

I have to get up really early Saturday morning (to leave for a bachelorette party of all things) so I think I will just be casually observing....thank goodness.

HAHAHAHA

Right, right? I actually don't remember any other olympic mascots ... maybe Sydney had a koala or a Kangaroo? I do remember the cool "We are the World" type song they had for the Seoul Olympics, though.

I did take my ex-MIL (she's still my Mama, though! to now!) to the Salt Lake City Olympics to watch ice skating because she loved ice skating so much and followed all the skaters every year. It was so awesome.

HAHAHA! "Hand in Hand" was the song!!! But funny you mention "We are the World" because I was at a halloween party a few years ago and my friends had dressed up as Angelina and Brad Pitt and all their kids and they did a group karaoke of the song. It was ridiculously epic.

OMG! I'd prefer hanging out with that couple anyhow.
