hey all...

you can all start calling me axe-man now... I just told the organization that helps the developmentally challenged woman who cleans our church building that we are firing her.

Ummm.... ouch?

you its ok to call her a retard now that you are firing her

I've been trying really hard not to use that word... even in sarc font... it really isn't fair.  She has been with the church for 10 years.  This really sucks.

wow that does suck.. she's probably going to have a hard time adjusting if she's been with you guys that long...

OK TAN - I want to do something special for my donor's family tomorrow (2nd anniversary of her death).  What should I do?  There are a couple of Grandparents and her Mom and an Aunt that she was really close to.

How ridiculous is it that I flew 3000 miles to see family and for the past 2.5 days they have had me working/fixing all the computer issues that they have...

I need to start charging for this shite

Rynamite - 2008-10-15 10:13 AM I need a freaking mental break, so I'mna sit here at my desk and read the new issue of Freeskier.

I think I'm going to sell my skis this weekend.  I'm going to unload a lot of junk.  I saved them because I used to love to ski.  But now I don't go very often, and when I do, I ride...  So skis need to go.

Sheesh, that's a tough one to relate to.  I don't think halmark has a card for that.

But these are my thoughts:

It may feel a little self centered to talk about yourself, but I would show them things you have done.  Triathlon, your work with other people dealing with it, family, etc.

If I were the family of a donor, I would would really be happy to see that someone is making the most of the gift.  I would want to see that they are doing great things and not just sitting around using an organ to stay alive to watch more TV or sit around.

I would like to see photos, articles, video of what they achieved, things they wouldn't have done wihtout the donation.

That would be far better than a bottle of wine or some other gift...

But that's just me.

I know this sounds cheesy and maybe a chick thing to do, and it won't actually take that long (could do it tonight), but ...

Write each of them a personal note (addressed individually even if the content is essentially the same) on very nice paper, and put it in the front of a tiny/small album or scrapbook. In the scrapbooks (which can all have the same pics, and they can be wallet size or however you want to print them), paste pictures of yourself doing races, or with your family ... all the things that are most meaningful to you and can happen because of your donor and the life you were given.

Write small captions in colored Sharpie, just simple stuff like, daughters' and wife's name, or "XXX Triathlon."

Just an idea.

My stomach just turned (due to anxiousness - let's be clear).  I don't envy you at all....  Why do you have to let her go?  Money or performance?

Just curious, but under what circumstances was the organ made available?  Car accident?

excess sugars?

sugars = simple carbs = calories = good in moderation.

Candy = empty calories = bad...
