22 miles on the trainer is in the books...  It didn't look good for a while.  My daughter had issues to night.  She's overtired and doesn't feel well.  By the time I got her settled down it was after 9:00.  I'M probably going to be up for a while now...  but it's done!

Just reached 100% on my strength goal I"m in pretty good shape with the bike and swim goals too but not the run goal.  I blame the shin splints for that.  10k this weekend hopefully the rest paid off and my shins won't hurt any.

Morning team.  I slept like crap last night. Two nights in a row of bad sleep = grouchy me.  But, I shall have coffee and perk up.

Today I hope to swim and maybe even run.  It will all be dependent on how long the insurance stuff takes.  Sorry but that is taking priority right now.  I think I'll have time for at least one of them though.

billsorg - 2010-03-25 2:00 PM Good afternoon, bEASTies,
I was sooooo tempted to blow off working out today, but then I thought about those evil TWISTERS and got over to the Y for a 1350 yard swim.  I'm now up to 4500 yards for the month vs. my goal of 10,000.  I will do another swim tomorrow at lunchtime.  I also am planning a 3-4 mile treadmill run in the morning so I can close the gap on the run goal.  I'm pretty confident I will exceed all goals.

SLEDGE HAMMER-TIME!!!

Gearing up for a 22 mile ride while watching some basketball tonight.  Big basketball night night in my house!!

I get to go listen to a 5th grade boys sex-ed talk - fun times!!! - LOL

My son didn't even want me coming but I have to - I told him we would go for pizza afterwards and I would correct all the bad stuff they said!

Just think it will be my first education in the subject and I am 43!  My parents did not do a real bang up job educating us

I'm with you Bill.....my girls ask way more questions...my mom didn't tell me anything! I have to answer what is a blow.......!It amazes me what these kids are doing/talking about at their ages...very scary!

yogachic - 2010-03-25 4:34 PM Ok, change of plans for the evening.  My running partner bailed, so I think I'm going to go home and hop on the trainer.  My goal is to be on the trainer withing 10 min of getting home otherwise I know it won't get done!  Plus, I have dinner and after dinner plans tonight, so if I dilly-dally then it might be too late to start!

I'm checking your logs....

Artemis - 2010-03-25 4:59 PM 3.64 mile running today.  I've got a 10k on Saturday.  So that puts me at least 30 miles running for the month.

Hi Jen! Way to go on the run.

I might wear my compressions shorts for protection Innocent and a hoodie or just a ski cap for some warmth.  The first minute is absolutely horrible but once you go numb it is not that bad.

Morning Bill!...I tried to do one and got my feet in and that was as far as I took it! Someone said they wear clothes....might try it after my 10 miles in a few weeks!

Morning Kim, I tried one after my first 10 miler. OMG it was difficult. But, I think it made a huge difference for the better. I wore my shorts.

I've been told repeatedly that the best way to lessen the shock is this:  Run a few inches of cool water in tub; have bucket/bag of ice beside tub; get into tub and get used to cool water; gradually add ice as your body adjusts to temperature.  This sounds like the most reasonable way to do it.  So you see, I am an expert on the ice baths that I will, in all likelihood, never take.  Hope this helps.

I have a swim  workout planned for this afternoon.  That will max out both my swim and bike goals.  I still need to put a few miles on my running shoes, but that shouldn't be a problem.  I know a few of our members have been knocked out by injuries, etc., so I will do my best to exceed all three goals to compensate.  Let's really bring this thing home in the last few days folks.

I'm coming to terms with the fact that perhaps my goals for the month were a little lofty. Okay, maybe a lot lofty. Looking at my graphs, I ramped up really way too fast, especially on the bike and the swim. I really don't see myself able to get to 100% on 2 of my 3 goals, but I am going to try my best to get as close as I can. We're in the home stretch!

Frown

I got home late from work last night (left slightly later than I wanted, then the trains weren't cooperating!) So I didn't get my trainer ride in last night. Cry
