mn_av8or - 2013-02-28 1:05 PM Feb went waaaay to fast... especially when I have my first half marathon coming up.  I'm not really scared about not finishing but I have a feeling it will be a crap time unless I can finally shed this chest cold.

You'll do fine.  My tips are: line up appropriately at the start, drink when they offer it, bring a gel to have at the halfway point.  If the race is local, ride your bike on the course a week or two beforehand (yes, this weekend!) for familiarization.

I love you all thanks so much for the support.

I'll be checking back in here and if we could do the Yanti-Dub6 thing and as many of you as like to sign up to "race with me" during one of my race legs, please reply and it is yours! I will think of you and pray for you during that leg as well and enjoy your company.

Please put me down for one of the first few bike segments.

4agoodlife - 2013-03-01 11:56 AM So are we giving up on 100 pages by end of month? I have 3 hours left

I'm here

A bunch of shyte broke on my bike or went missing (last-minute) and the bike store piglet was so awesome I asked him to marry me and he said yes. I will post a pic. Also he would not charge me (well I think I may be rendering services ifyouknowwhatImean) ... that was his wedding gift

Made it into bike/helmet and transition bags check FOUR MINUTES BEFORE DEADLINE.

Holy schmokes! DRAMA, drama, Bali-mama! Congrats on the pending nuptials   Oh, and on getting your gear checked in prior to cardiac arrest.

And what as it your brother said he'd do at your wedding?  Wink

I am really impressed with the diverse group that we have in the pod. Everything including Vet techs, zookeepers, truck driving salesmen, professors, law enforcement, IT, designers, armed forces and health care, yep we are quite a cross section of the world. I love that we have people from all walks of life and all parts of the world. I'll probably be throwing out some more non-training types of questions over the next few weeks. For me, life is about the relationships that we develop as we go along, and this is just one more opportunity for me to meet people, embrace the differences and grow as a human. So, I thank you all for indulging me.

"Don't let the scars in life define you, they are there to help you develop." Have a great day everyone!

BTW, I have my Yanti watching set for Friday. I will be taking a late lunch to see the start. I haven't been able to find it streaming anywhere yet, but I'm gonna hunt for it tonight when I get home. If it isn't streaming, I'll be stalking watching her bib # and seeing where she is on the course.

And the occasional SAHM   You're welcome. lol

I don't know how you do it! I go crazy just over the weekend sometimes.

Haha...being a teacher for 12 years made me impervious to such craziness. ..or just so crazy already, I can't tell the difference. 25-35 other people's kids in one room vs 1-2 of my own...the math is the easy part.

I'm taking it easy this weekend.  DH is off to a bachelor party in DC playing crazy nerdy board games, so I'll be hanging out with little Miss E.  Also, my foot tattoo got finished today!  Check it out. I'm totally in love with it.

tattoo

I love how it turned out! The colors, even on screen, are shimmery.

I think that's the green! It was really surprising to have that in there, but I love it.

nice tatt Jen. I have been thinking of getting one in honor of a friend who died last year but I'm just not sure. It would have to be somewhere that was easily covered because I don't think that the company that I work for would be happy if it was visible. So Jen from your experience where on the body hurts the least?

I have lower back, shoulder/top of arm, wrist, ankle, foot.  So, I guess I have 5 and can't count.  Anyway, lower back was painful, but I don't know if that's because it was my first or actually painful.

Ankle wasn't painful except parts on the bone, ditto for shoulder.  Top of arm (like what would be covered by a tshirt) was easy and I thought wrist was easy.

GOOD LUCK MANATEES!!!!!

I think I can come off the disabled list.  Hip is doing a ton better and my back/core are getting stronger.  I have 2 more PT appointments to help with my core and making sure I know what to do going forward, but I'm doing great!  I think hip pain was related to back issues.

There is a virtual racer thread in CoJ that she started. There are some non-manatees (is there such a thing?) in there as well. I'm guessing that it will grow as the day goes on.
