kaqphin - 2008-08-17 10:46 PM Wow Moffatt is having an awesome run!
no kidding!

LOL, Snowsill took the wrong wayq she looks super strong

I think she was hungry - looked like she was following a craft-services cart.  Maybe she DOES need a gel... :P

I think she wanted to get her gold medal already

From the aYahoo ticker....

"04:50 - The leader Snowsill has been sent off course and was forced to jump a barricade. But she is back in her stride and with one 2.5km lap to go she leads by 57 seconds from Fernandes with Emma Moffatt 11 second behind. Japan's Juri Ide is chasing but Bennett and Hewitt have faded out of contention."

Whoa.  Jumping a barricade?  That'll make the highlight reel...

Must be 85F out there on the course; the women look like they're sweltering.  *phew*

Bennett takes 4th..If something really stupid and crazy happens with the rules committee re. Snowsill's offcourse adventure , that could be significant.

A team medal would have been a good competition - combined finishing places of the 3 athletes etc.....Snowsill ran very impressively...congrats to her.

Congrats to the Aussies, nice finish for Bennett in 4th.

And now Sarah Haskins +2:55 and Swail-Ertel +4:11.  At least they weren't puking at the line...  eww.

That replay shot of that Japanese runner did not look good - showing the heat.  Makes me all the more impressed with the strength of Emma's finish.

I'd rather see puking than the number of women who collapsed.

These women are really in bad shape after crossing the finish line.  Who was the one carted off in a stretcher?
