Well I reached my swim goal for the month w/ another 4500 yds scheduled for next week, guess I underestimated a little.

Keep up the good work everyone!!!!

Congrats on reaching your swim goal already!  Maybe you should think about increasing your goal by 4500 yards...just a little something to keep you motivated next week.

I'm getting ready to sneak away from work for a quick swim.  I thought about skipping it altogether but a quick browse of BT helped me kick those lazy thoughts!

^^^^

I'll take that challenge, new swimming goal is 12k yds.

I also managed a quick ride after dinner tonight.  Surprisingly no training wheels required.

I thought Jen (Artemis) is saying that we can cap out at 110% for the month of our goal. You might want to figure that in when you are upping your goal. I know one month we reached 110% for 3/4 of our team and we just barely came in first in the challenge. So that is just something to think about when you revise your goals.

I swam 2500 yds this morning. I'm trying to get my swim percentage up. I guess it's good to be a slower swimmer when your swim goal is in minutes. :-)

I'm planning on running to/from work tomorrow(9 miles round trip). This weekend the bike is coming off the trainer.

I made it to spin class at the gym this morning, so I'm 65 minutes closer to that goal.  I'm hoping to get a ride in Saturday too.

Tomorrow I'm hitting up the LRS for some orthotic inserts for my running shoes.  Sunday is the big test - wish me luck.

So, Emily has a triathlon this weekend--anybody else racing?? There's a chance of snow here but I am still planning a big brick on Saturday.  Didn't hit my time goals today but did 20 min in the pool and 60 min on the bike.

Good job getting a brick in, Emily, and congrats on girl control, it is important!

Scot, it will be fun to hit the road again, eh?  Long winter up north!!!  I rode in 29 degrees a few weeks ago, and it was refreshing, to put it mildly.  What are the temps there??

It's in the 40's now, so it's not too bad. It did seem like winter hung around about a month longer than usual. The forecast for Sunday is 67 and sunny. Should be a nice day for a ride.

Good luck on your race tomorrow!!!

I got a cold ride in this morning.  It was 36* when I left the house and I did encounter some snow falling, nothing on the roads though.  There was a ring of ice around the bottom of my water bottle when I got home - the things I do for this team!

I hear ya!  It was 35 degrees on the entire ride today, a few slush flurries, but we still did two hours.  My feet were frozen solid even though I had on wool socks and shoe covers. I did a brick (first of the season) and ran for an hour right afterward.  It felt really good, I think I can handle the Oly in June without freaking out.  My legs held up pretty darn well, phew!  As far as the duathlon next weekend, this cold weather had better go away!!!!!!

REMINDER TO EVERYONE:  LOG YOUR WORKOUTS BY THE END OF TOMORROW!!!  WE HAVE TO MAINTAIN OUR LEAD!!!

OK, I'm so pleased with my training this week, I'm here for a small lap of honour

With this challenge on my mind, and after gradually improving over the last few weeks, I managed every single one of my training sessions this week. Woo-hoo! (I think that's the first time I've done that this year!!!) And yesterday's bike ride (62 mins) was in the most miserable conditions. I was absolutely soaked with rain and mud, right to my skin.

So thanks to you all for being my long-distance inspiration

And come on team Moose!!!

Alright!  I survived my first tri!  Race report is posted if anyone is interested.  I had a good time and despite some initial doubts about the sanity of triathlon I'm ready to start training for my next race.

Great job on the tri and the 5k!  Post race report links in here when you are done so we can cheer for you.  For races, I guess I am responsible for reporting the changed numbers, but I think it makes sense just to have you put the double times in the spreadsheet...Jen, is that ok?

For example, if Emily swam 10 min, can she just enter 20?  Etc etc......

Here's the official info: 3. Race distances or times count double depending on what you are using for goals. This is an incentive so that taper/race recovery doesn't penalize you. In order to use this incentive you must report that you did the race in your team thread so that the captain can then adjust the number above what shows in your BT log(sorry for the extra work captains)

Get those numbers posted, everyone....I will be studying the spreadsheet in a while, say around 630 PM PST to do some shout-outs !! !! !!

OK, I double checked and updated the spreadsheet tonight, and also added race times or distances as necessary.  If you've raced earlier in the month, please go ahead and add double that total...I didn't start checking that until tonight, sorry...and also make sure for the rest of the month to know that your graph numbers won't match up with your overall numbers as a result.  I think that the formula in the spreadsheet that comes up with the overall results is messed up, so don't panic when you see low numbers there--I have asked for help in that department!  Everyone is doing awesome!!!  Here are a few highlights:

Kleinrider has hit 98% of their swim total.   Also ran a sweet 5k pace this weekend!!

Bbmoozer has started subbing/teaching a spin class!  Awesome!

Gillyfev has hit 93% of her bike goal!

Oweiss has biked over 500 miles this month!! (74%!)

Emily (esc) did a triathlon today and did great!!!!

Let's see more inspires this week, everyone, and see if we can't seal up first place by kicking it to the finish!!!!!!!
