Atlantia - 2009-12-09 10:09 PM Okay, looks like I need to be a Tough Cookie: We are in LAST PLACE! I don't want to be on a losing team, so pull yourself up by the fins, cleats or laces and get those workouts in. Remember, the other teams are supposed to fear the Christmas Cookies, not eat us for breakfast. Inspire (and by that I mean shame into working out) your fellow team members who seem to be slacking and let's make a comeback by the end of this week, okay? I'm heading off to bed, and first thing in the morning I'm getting on the trainer. G'night!

I second this motion! We are in last for everything and I do not like to loose! It is bad enough to have one oooppps I lost a challenge, can't add to that! Let's go Cookies!!!

dcon - 2009-12-10 6:21 AM Hi everyone.  Nice to see all the chatter in the thread.   I got in a run this morning and a swim this evening and I'm currently ahead of plan.    My left shoulder is kind of sore, but I won't swim again until next Monday and I'm hoping to get it sorted out by then - lots of ice, aspirin and massage.

Have a great day!

Dan

Nice job Dan, take it easy with the shoulder.

aspeelma - 2009-12-10 8:14 PMGood morning Cookies!!!

I decided to move yesterday's run back a day. Cold I can deal with, 30+ mph winds and rain I cannot. I still need to update the spreadsheet. I can't do it from work, and I don't think about it from home. I'll write myself a note.

Stay warm everyone.
Those 30+ mph winds are great if they're at your back, but really nasty if you're trying to run into them....in the rain. Smart move to postpone.

I'm starting to believe that tailwinds are a myth. I frequently have a headwind, winds to either side, or no wind, but I haven't had a good tailwind yet. There are days that it doesn't matter which way I turn I still have the headwind. I haven't figured that one out yet.

I'm with you Ann, my last tri every time I turned the corner I thought here it come the tailwind everyone talks about but NO still in my face or blowing me over sideways!

Morning Cookies. I just came in from running in 23 degrees. I know that's nothing compared to what a lot of you have, but its been our coldest morning so far here. I actually quite liked it. When its cold but not too cold, I have no problem getting out and running in that.
Does anyone else feel especially achy after running in the cold? I get in and my knees always seem to be sore and stiff, but then after my shower it goes away.

Happy Friday Cookies! I did get my trainer ride in yesterday but no run...will try to get to the Y and use the new TM's we got! It is very cold here, so no outside running for me. My dog is not happy! We have my hubby's work party tonight, mine tomorrow night and an indoor/backwards tri on Sunday. I can't wait! This is the 3rd yr doing the backwards tri for strongkids at the Y. We run/walk on the track, spin on the bikes and do a water aerobics class for the swim. It has allowed the active older adults to get involved and they love it! This year we have over 100 people doing it, some AOA others are younger. It should be a blast! My hubby is even doing it which I am soooo happy about!
Have a great day all!

Hmmmmm 23 is a heat wave for me! 5 out right now without the windshield! Way to get out there and run. I do feel more achy after running in the cold too. But I just thought that was my wussy self!

Alright folks! New job on top of hours at "old" job are taking their toll. Good thing is I've already lost 5 of my 8 pounds for the month...two mornings in a row the scale told me 213!

Bitterly cold weather has dampened the running, but it will restart tonight with two 10-milers over the weekend. Hopeful to have 25 miles covered over the next three days to help catch up in the running department. I will hit my goal of 120 miles even if I have to run 20 on New Year's Eve!

Let's go inspire some of those that haven't posted much and haven't updated the spreadsheet!

Good morning Cookies! I've been a bit overwhelmed with my social schedule this past week - book club, volunteering, attending a holiday party and hosting my own party tonight. Today is the last day of the insanity, though, and I'm hoping to sneak a run in during the cleaning and party prep today. I'm feeling good and determined to make my goals this month (a bit back-loaded this time...).

Good evening team.  Who is our team Captain again?  I have to revise my goals.  It's kinda embarrassing but I won't be able to do my 6 hour bike.  I can explain but in PM.  If it's ok for me do that then I'd like to.  Again I'm really not making an excuse, I swear.

Hi team... sorry I've been MIA but I've been out of commission with a sore neck for the past week.  It seems to be resolved and I was able to do an hour on the trainer today with no pain.  I'm way behind on my goals but hope to do some catch up and stay on track for the rest of the month.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

I need to drop my running goal lower or drop out altogether. I went for an 11 mile run on Saturday and my IT issue with my left knee did not react well. I have been dealing with this for about two months and it has been a nagging thing. The short stepping, slippery run on Saturday did me no good. My marathon training starts at the end of January and I want to be healthy for that. I figure I would be able to get another 30 or so miles this month.

Just trying to be realistic and watch out for my overall health. Hope everyone understands.

Hey everyone. Looks like we're still in last place. Everyone needs to make sure their numbers are in the spreadsheet. Sometimes accidents happen and numbers get wiped out. For example, Will should check his numbers. He is showing only 1 swim and zero runs, but I know he has done more than that.Have a great week cookies!Dan
