Dont forget to post your miles. time or sessions and add 50% extra mileage for races you competed in. So for example an 8 mile race is worth 12 miles towards your goal Lynne , rest up get better and hopefully we will see in a challenge again very soon . Alright, alright! I put my miles in! Pacific Time Zone is looking pretty darn good! (meepmeep.jpg) Attachments ---------------- meepmeep.jpg (31KB - 12 downloads) |

Expert 1260 Norton Shores, MI | Subject: RE: Novemburr Run Challenge Nice weekend for everybody at the races!! Sweeet. I ended up running 13.1 miles on Saturday for my 31st birthday. My mom asked why I was not running 31 miles . Maybe next year.....not. I felt really fresh at the end which surprised me a bit although my hamstrings were a little tight sunday. Did any easy 4.75 miles today to loosen up. Still right on track but hope to get ahead of schedule this week. |

Do we mark it differently some how, or just add it to the mileage? |

Master 2770 Central Kansas | Subject: RE: Novemburr Run Challenge ashort33 - 2011-11-14 9:41 AM 9 miles done this morning. It was a difficult this morning due to the hills on the route and the DOMS from Sat.... Good miles though - I will be ready for my first 10 mile training run next week! You are better than I am. My quads are still achy, so I didn't run today. Granted, I worked 12 plus hours, but still. I did spin on the trainer for 25 minutes. More miles tomorrow. |

So for example an 8 mile race is worth 12 miles towards your goal . Oh! Cool. Do we mark it differently some how, or just add it to the mileage? Just keep track of it and include the Race bonus to your total . For example I have added 6.55 "miles" to my total . For the half marathon race i did last week . If you have a sessions goal for the challenge like Andy ; a race is worth 1.5 sessions. A reason for this is to make up for lower weekly mileage when tapering before a race. And to maybe ease back in or rest up afterwards . |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Novemburr Run Challenge Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around much. Had a great time in Utah and Colorada, finished my 50k and marathon (love the bonus miles!), and had a fantastic vacation. I'm a bit ahead of my goal right now, but the rest of the month will be lighter now that I'm in taper mode. Going to see if the legs want to run today. They're still a bit sore, but I'm going to give it a go, Have a great day everyone! GO PACIFIC!!! |

Expert 1260 Norton Shores, MI | Subject: RE: Novemburr Run Challenge I managed to get in a good 8 miler this morning and then another EZ 4 miler at lunch today...the legs feel pretty good at this point although I do have a threshold bike on the docket tomorrow a.m. where I plan to make em hurt a bit. Swimming is awesome active recovery for running. I am planning on one as well at lunch tomorrow plus I am a little scared about losing all of my gains I made last winter in the pool although that may be inevitable (sp?). |

It's been a few years since my wife and I took a vacation that didn't include a race (aside from visiting family -- that doesn't count as a vacation, right? ). Can you imagine going on something like a cruise? Stuck on a boat with only pool swimming, spin bikes, and treadmills...the horror, horror! |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Novemburr Run Challenge Updating the Leader board mid way through the month I am happy to see runners have taken advantage of the race bonus We have raced in tough neighborhood where a glance at the locals could be interpreted as a challenge Some raced in snow and heavy rain and afterwards nursed nagging bruised muscles or we lost one due to illness and injury. But we have also raced well and achieved PRs. Before soon it will time for Turkey Trots So Far in the challenge Teams are progressing as follows Team Pacific is at 66% complete Team Mountain and Central pacing well at 46% Team Eastern is third at 30% complete World Team is very close fourth with 29% |
