That was the most pathetic reward challenge... EVER. I mean come on, if he was tired, and they were catching up, he needed to ditch the weight and leave the competition. The last time they did this challenge the people in it were hardcore. This time, it was embarrassing to watch how bad Philip/that team did. Pathetic. Phillip's arrogance then excuses are nauseating. He "threw" the challenge? Kudos for Cochran to just laughing. Maybe I'm too competitive, but I would call BS and go off... But maybe not for a million dollars. I couldn't stand the self ridicule jokes from Cochran the first season. The first few are funny, but the constant "I suck, I'm weak, I'm terrible" wears on me. THIS time? I love the kid! He's starting fire off some shots "It would do a disservice to Vanilla" and other really creative and smart comments/insults. And less of the "poor me" stuff. Not sure if he "grew" or just is more comfortable, but I think he's going to do pretty well this time. . I think Cochran is enough of a fan that when he watched himself on the show he saw where he went wrong and is trying to change it this time. While he is still not a physical threat he is jumping in when needed and trying and thats all people can really ask for.
I hesitate to say things like this because frankly, how you're portrayed on the show is entirely out of your control(save for craziness of the Hantz level or running a bit into the ground like Philip's stealth crap). There are 168 hours in a week, and the editors/directors are knocking it down to 48 minutes. You could have 5 minutes of obnoxious behavior in a week, they'll make it a tent-pole of a segment, and suddenly millions of viewers think you're obnoxious. Given how little we see, it's hard to say any of them are really how the shows portrays them especially considering the show is built on conflict & drama. You might be right about Cochran, but I personally think his smaller footprint in this show is more due to the antics of Brandon/Philip/Iraq Vet(name escapes me) taking up airtime than anything to do with him. |

That could very well be true but I have noticed Cochran jumping into challenges more. Now they might edit the part of him complaining about it but so far it looks like when they need him he will try which is different than his first appearance. |

I think it's 3 days between tribal so 72 hours compressed into 48 minutes. Your point is still valid but not quite at that time frame. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I was really hoping Corrine and Malcome could have pulled off that vote. What was Eric thinking or as he? Dawn Philip and Cochran as final three? I'm laughing thinking about it. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() That was ridiculous. Dawn is making me mad. That is TWICE now she's gone and tattled on people. I realize she thinks her mistake last time was not using information she received...but now she went the opposite way and isn't holding ANYTHING back that people tell her... Yay, Cochran winning immunity! :D I like him. That last round was close...I thought Malcolm had him when a little bit of the brain squirted out of Cochran's mouth. I figured for the last round they would have had a larger portion...make it more about who can stuff down several mouthfuls, not just one quickly. I didn't think Corinne was being THAT bad. I feel a bit bad for her that she got blindsided. I would rather have seen Phillip leave. Reynold made good points at Tribal...all 8 favorites can't be in the final 3...use the remaining fans while they are still there. Malcolm should be happy now though...Corinne was the only one that knew about his idol. Who else has an idol now....Reynold, right? Should get interesting now... |

If you're mad at Dawn now, if what I've read on some other sites is true, you'll be furious with her by the end of the season. Edited by SCamp07 2013-04-04 2:45 PM |

Edit: And I shouldn't be MAD at Dawn. This is something I would have to wrap my brain around if I ever played the game...just because you tell someone something in confidence doesn't mean they have to keep it a secret. Even if they would in real life that doesn't mean they will or should in Survivor. Survivor is VERY much about knowing WHO to tell, WHAT to tell them, and WHEN to tell it....information IS power. Corinne screwed up confiding in Dawn. Dawn used the info to blindside Corinne. It just bothered me that she "tattled" twice... Edited by jldicarlo 2013-04-04 2:48 PM |

But after watching the whole episode I thought that was the right thing for the favorites to do. Malcom's interviews are very conceited, especially the trash he talked about Cochran winning immunity. And Reynold - ugh, did anyone catch where he said that eating gross stuff was his ONLY weakness in the game? I was happy that at least they toned down the Phillip show for a change. |

Sensei ![]() | ![]() At least she talked about it... But I'm tired of the water works from a "strong" player. I guess she cemented her alliance with Phillip for the time being since she ran to him first thing. Maybe not a bad move in the long run. Phillip will get her back and be poised for her to blindside him later? |

They always do more strength based challenges at first then move to puzzle and endurance ones so getting rid on strong non allies is the best thing in the beginning. Putting up with it is key... Just like Abbie from last season (who was a LOT worse), he has that type of personalities I don't like. She was mean a cruel then played "poor me" and would never apologize even when she was wrong and not care. She was evil and way worse than Phillip, BUT: He is the kind that are just so full of themselves and full of it and will lie to you ("I threw the challenge"). I tend to try to take down people full of themselves and if they flat out lie to me with such little respect in me that I would BELIEVE it? It's hard to keep my mouth shut. All the Boston Rob reference. Man, I would like to hear what he has to say. Spy-R-us nonsense and nicknames? It's ridiculous. There are plenty of people I wouldn't like, but you can live with. His absurdities would drive me nuts. But for a million smackers?..... |

Sit back and observe - which makes people nervous. I think I'd be terrible. I don't do very well when I'm hungry first thing - get really bad headaches. Then dealing with some of those personalities, I just don't know. I have worked with some real nut jobs and dealt with all of their absurdities but that is not the same - you get to go home for the weekend. I think being hungry, missing family, tired, dirty all of that together would sink my ship. It seems like sitting back for a while is a pretty good strategy really. Weren't several of the past winners quiet almost to the point of seeming like they did not have a game? But then they stepped up at the end. Don't ask me names though..... |
