Thanks, i am always looking for additions to  Tri Library.

I used the 20week IM plan from BT this year... I upped the biking... and downed the swimming tho.

and did some different running workouts given to me by people that run alot faster than i do

Me too - the Intermediate plan.  The beginner had some sick weeks (20 hours) and LOTS of long runs and bikes - but more recovery weeks.

The int plan had no recovery weeks, but more managable volumes week to week than the beg. plan.

The advanced was too tough for my first one.  maybe if I do another one next year.

That's just crazy talk. I should try to follow a pan for my first IM. But I probably won't. I'll probably just wing it like every other race.

To be honest, I never looked at that one.  I'm more of a HR guy than a RPE guy - so I didn't consider it.  Maybe I should have.  I may go back an take a peak.

Agreed, i just matched up the 5 HR  zones the guy gave me when i did my VO2 tests the to rpe zones...

(no idea if that is scientific, but it did seem to work)

Someone here (a coach) suggested these:

I give the following table to my guys for training (I use the RPE scale 1 to 10)

Zone 1 – Easy pace (recovery) RPE = < 2
Zone 2 – Steady pace (endurance) RPE = 2-4
Zone 3 – Moderate pace (tempo) RPE = 4-5
Zone 4 – Threshold pace (LT) RPE = 5-7
Zone 5 – Hard pace (VO2) RPE = 7 >

I have found that I have been going away from the HR now.  I can feel where I'm supposed to be now.  So an RPE plan would work fine.

Plus, I found my Vo2 cycling test matched pretty close to my LT field test.  It's all about the same if you pay attention, IMO.

It's not that big a deal.  You should probably be focusing on an upcoming IM or something, anyway.

Besides jacked up sinuses I'm actually doing alright.  I thought of a potential ending for my novel so that's good.  I was feeling pretty funky and directionless (novel-wise) yesterday.

My swim is so short, it's hardly worth going to the gym and getting wet.  Less than 20 min...  silly, really.

Oh well.  There are hotties at that gym - but they don't go to the pool area, so not much use to me.

Do you not get it, lads? The Irish are the blacks of Europe. And Dubliners are the blacks of Ireland. And the Northside Dubliners are the blacks of Dublin. So say it once, say it loud: I'm black and I'm proud.
