Yay Betsy!!!

Packed up myself and the girls today for a quick swim and then a jog on the treadmill except the idiots at my Y made the call at 8:30 to close the pool due to weather.  Nevermind that it was 55 and sunny.  The cut off closing temp is supposed to be 45.  I'm just so over it!  The only good news is they will get a new aquatics director March 15 and hopefully the masters classes starting Monday will be good.

After my whopping 8+ minutes on the treadmill I had time so I did an 'extreme ab' class.  I'll probably curse every time I cough or sneeze tomorrow.  Good thing I don't have a cold.

I've never heard of weather delays cause of cold but I lived in FL and never swam at a Y.  Sounds to me like some lifeguards just don't want to work or something. We used to do that in FL when the clouds started rolling in mid-day, I hear thunder!

Happy Frickin' Friday Y'all!

Good luck to the DU boys... Ken & Justine!  May you drink from the bottle of 'c' and crush some dreams!

EvD... Good luck with the Rodeo 10K tomorrow, I am sure you will lay down some wicked fast, make me wish I was running kind of time!

To all of our NY MG peeps - 9 inches of snow in Central Park I heard on the radio this morning!  Brutal!  Stay warm and dry and pray for Spring to get Sprung already!

I can not wait two more days to test the knee... (I was gonna wait until Monday, March 1st - and try out an easy 3-4 miler)... I have decided that I need to do this tomorrow AM!  Before I go INSANE!  Swim today on my way home from work...gonna swing by the LA Fitness, so there is no chance of missing it later!  Tomorrow, AM run... afternoon I am hoping to make it to the gym for another swim and weights.  Sunday will be a bike around the 'hood with a guy who is new to triathlon and sporting a plenty nice, brand new, Fuji Aloha... He's training for Lonestar Sprint and I am gonna ride a few miles with him.  Sunday afternoon... see what shapes up.

X3 Ken good luck!

This Monday I'll get my first true tri-bike!  I got a demo 2009 Felt b12 for very cheap, I'll even have some store credit left!  It supposedly has less than 200 miles and looks new..  I can't wait to try it out on the road.

Now I just need to get my training back on track, my wife's new health kick is kicking me in the butt during my workouts.  No energy at all and my legs extremely tired, legs felt a little wobbly during the run.  I though I would have more energy eating a lot more veggies and fruit and less processed carbs, but it seems I need more of the bad carbs to get me going??  Does that make sense?  Hopefully it's just my body getting used to eating healthy or that I'm trying too many new things at once..  like the bikram..

Thanks but I'm not sure I'm going to make the race... probably do a 10k all out on my own though just for fun

Good luck to Justine as well, I didn't realize you were doing to Du as well!

Go Ken and Justine!!!

When they are done it's a full breakfast at our place - eggs, hashed browns, sausage, biscuits with white gravy and maybe some scones - especially if anybody gets hardware!!!

That's awesome about the bike, let us know how she rides!

Carbs is the fuel of endurance athletes, make sure to still eat them after workouts or you will feel sluggish. Also, not all carbs are created equal... LINK. Your new diet may have reduced the carbs your body was using for workouts and recovery...

I don't think you need bad carbs but maybe some steel cut oats and whole wheat?  I know I couldn't survive w/o carbs!

Happy Friday everyone...

-Congrats on the bike, post pics when you get her.
-Justin, now you just need a D6 to match your new wheel.
-Best of luck to every one racing this weekend. If you're into betting, Ken is favored by 8 minutes over yours truly. (It's a DU and Ken rocks the run, and I'll be lucky to hang on with the bike).

Also just a thought, the weekend of March 13th or the 14th, I was thinking about riding the Galveston course, let me know if anybody would be interested in joining.
