Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action Howdy Ghoulies. I had a large weekend of major yard work. I am sore.I had to get a cortizone injection in my foot today. It is sore now, but I hope it iwll fell better in a day or so. How are the young uns, Ann. I hope they are all better from this weekends banging around. That is amazing about the kids swearing at each other at that young age. Sounds like a nice hike, Dee. Happy DAY ONE, Kendra.

They are having a "Welcome Kendra Coffee" today at 11am. No one wears name tags, so I don't know who is a student, or who works here. Crazy. And once the building is open, it seems that most of the doors are unlocked, so anyone could walk just about anywhere. Anyway, I believe that I will enjoy it here a lot. There is no problem with me coming in around 7 and leaving by 4, so that is nice. I am slowly bringing in my "toys" to make my desk space my own. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action Dee - the haircut looks very nice. Ann - Wow, you had a very eventful weekend. Hope the kiddos are both doing okay now and no concussions. Robin - I might be taking a quick trip one day trip up to NC to see my dad. Wish I could make it longer and visit Lake Lure, but with him up in Marshall, makes it tough to drop in to Lake Lure. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action Hey Ghoulies A late check in today. I had to go to Asheville for "Customer Service" training. Each new administration always assumes we are troglodytes that have no idea how to deal with the public. They devise a program and we are required to attend. At least this one was not the usual waste of time as others. There was some actual good info presented. Kendra, I am glad you are going to enjoy the work. I am excited for you. If you get a chance, just drop by. We will be here all weekend. I know it is a haul from Marshall, but on your way home.....??? If you call, don't be surprised if we don't answer. cell phones are sketchy around here and I intend to be out in the yard away from the home phone. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action I deferred the MCM until next year. We can run it together, Ann. Jim is going to defer, as well. No sense in spending all that money for one of us... or a 10 k again. Now I can schedule my foot surgery earlier. |

I am plotting and planning today: When to get the foot fixed, what event to look for (I do better if I have one planned). How to get all the work around here done, What to have for dinner if we don't go to the Friends meeting tonight. If I can get a nap in today. Important stuff like that. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action Good morning Ghoulies! I'm wfh this morning. Another hour to go then I'm showering and getting ready for the day, then picking the kiddos up from school at 10:15. We've talked about funerals several times this week, so we'll see how today goes. I'm not a fan of them, so personally I'm not looking forward to it. I wouldn't be going if the kids weren't.

Ice cream after attending a funeral is not disrespectful. |

LOL Then I got my iPad at a meeting later on. Does that mean I get to play games at meetings now too? I am slowing getting some of the names down. Still attending lots of meetings, but actually was able to contribute to two of them today. Woot! Today had a crazy start. The alarm did not go off and we woke up as the carpool arrived at the house. We crazily rushed around and were out the door in less than 10 minutes. Actually got two bike workouts in this week on the trainer. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action Good morning Ghoulies! Somehow we made it through the day yesterday. Both kids were mostly ok until the eulogy, then I had 2 kids and a husband in tears. I was sitting between Donnie, and Caleb, and Keri was on the other side of Caleb. I looked over and saw her crying, so I jumped in between both kids and had a head on each shoulder. Originally we were all going to go to the cemetary, but the kids decided to stay back, so I stayed with them. The funeral was at our church, so Caleb went to the Sunday school rooms to hook up some new overhead projectors that Donnie had gotten from the college. Keri helped the church ladies setup the food for when everyone came back. I sat at a table with Donnie's 85 year old aunt, and an elderly neighbor and chatted. We stayed there for awhile after everyone came back. The kids ate. Caleb was ready to go, and Keri wanted to stay and help clean up so Donnie said he'd bring her home. I took Caleb to get a new soccer ball because somehow k-9 teethmarks appeared in his other one. No ice cream. Caleb had soccer practice last night. It has been a rough season. The coach is new, and has no respect from his team. The younger guys have attitudes, and won't listen to anyone. The older guys are trying to get ready for the HS team next year and are getting frustrated. Caleb said he reached his breaking point last night. I know it was an emotional day for him, so I'm hoping he settles down. There are 2 younger kids that don't like Caleb and snap at him every chance they get. Caleb was in the goal last night and they are only supposed to shoot 1 at a time. Well these 2 would take shots on goal the same time as someone else was. Caleb can't only stop so many balls at a time. When Caleb would miss a ball they'd harass him, tell him he sucked, call him a loser, fun stuff like that. The coach was standing on the field with them and never said anything. They had team pictures last night, too. Caleb's cousin is the photographer. Caleb knew she was not feeling well, he was talking to her at the funeral earlier in the day. The team was a complete bunch of for her as she was trying to do the pictures. Caleb told them a couple of times to knock it off. The coaches even knew she wasn't feeling well, because they commented about her not being there yet, when they started practice, and I told them I had seen her earlier in the day and she was sick. They did nothing about the team's lack of cooperation with her. Caleb came back to my car after pictures and said he was done. I went and had a chat with the coach. I know there are a couple other guys on the team frustrated and I told him that. He said this was the Marine Corps, and they were there to have fun. Right then I knew I'd get nowhere with him. I said what I had to, and I told him I was taking Caleb and going home. We have always had a rule that if you start the season you finish it, and we have stuck to that, but I may make an exception in this case. Caleb is going to talk to some of the other guys on his team, and then decide what he wants to do. Life would be a whole lot more enjoyable if you were able to just smack people, and their kids. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action Ann, Sounds like the kids did ok at the funeral. They are not fun. Not fun at all. I like the Irish tradition of a Wake much better. The Soccer team sounds like it is worth quitting. Quitting a team because it is hard work is one thing, staying in a bad situation is not worth it, and the lesson taught is not one you all want to teach a kid. |

Robin, that's how I feel about the quitting thing. I told him in the spring I will request that he plays on the U19 team. He will be ok there. He will most likely have the coach he likes, because his son moved up to that team. And he will also be playing with the kids from the HS team, who he will be playing with in the fall. If they won't let me bump him up, I'll just take him somewhere else to play. I am anti-funeral, and viewing. I think that putting a dead body on display is barbaric. I don't want either, and Donnie knows that. I threatened to come back and haunt him. |
