Great Job! I love the small, local races, you really get to know the people you are likely to see at every race and it is a great feeling to be surrounded by and to race with friends! |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: September North-South Swim and/or Bike Challenge I attempted to swim yesterday. It was close to a disaster. I can do the side stroke on my right side only for a short time. No free style, no breast stroke, no back stroke, no treading water, not even aqua jogging. I didn't try using a kick board but.... Yuck, just yuck. What should I do about my swim goal, folksies? I can bike, however so that goal will be met, no problem. |

AFM: I got had my first triathlon today. It was a super sprint. I lived, even though I panicked during the swim. Dead last out of the water (pretty small race), but was able to gain some ground during the bike and pass a few people on the run to avoid finishing last (whew!). Good fun after I got over the swim. |

Congratulations to both of you! I think panic on the swim is mandatory for the first time (at least). |

Member 99 Lexington, KY | Subject: RE: September North-South Swim and/or Bike Challenge Blanda that is AWESOME! There is nothing better than the feeling you have after completing a race :D And Robin, I hope you feel better and please change your goals or whatever you need to do, it is all good with me. Hopefully you will be able to smoke us all at a challenge in the next couple of months! I am hoping to get three good swims in this week so I can go above and beyond on my swimming but I only have two planned...hopefully nothing goes awry! |

Master 1623 | Subject: RE: September North-South Swim and/or Bike Challenge I should hit my bike goal this month. Just 3 more sessions left! This should be a pretty fun week for me. I'm going to see Lion King in 3d tomorrow with one of my best friends then Tuesday our bed and dresser are being delivered (I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about this!!) This means our random bags of clothes will finally be off the floor and the house will feel even more homey. I'm also slowly preparing for our puppy A girl I work with has a friend whose dog just had puppies that she's giving away and we are getting one!! They are beagle and basset hound mix. I just bought him a toy the other day... I can't wait for the end of october to bring the little guy home. Now I have a month to think of some good names for him. |

I'll be travelling this week, so I knew I had to get in a swim this morning if I were to meet my goal. I so much wanted to just sleep in. But, I did it. All because of the challenge!! Definitely pushed me this month. Ok, so by Friday...we're all going to be 100%, right??? |

100%...at least! :-) Also, I have some great news to share, I was awarded a scholarship from my local triathlon training center/store Swim Bike Run of Kentucky. Free 6 month membership to the facility including computrainer classes, treadmills, endless pools, and tri coaches...and all just in time for the winter! I am getting the scholarship this Saturday at the awards ceremony after my duathlon. I am so SO excited and just wanted to share it with you all. I know this will really kick me up to the next level and make doing an olympic and maybe even an 1/2 iron man totally possible summer 2012!
