It was very easy to spot anyone from BT with the yellow t-shirt, it really stood out.  No matter where you were, you could ALWAYS find BTers.

Last years shirts look really sweet.  I didn't order one but another BT'er gave me a spare.

Some idiot actually wore a florescent yellow high-vis shirt on the bike and the run!  I'm told you could see him coming around a corner before he rounded the corner from the light reflecting from his joisey!

Does anyone remember what flavor powergel they provided on the bike?  I want to give PowerBar another chance.

Thanks

Suck it up buttercup and just eat it!  :-)   I don't remember what they had last year but I don't think it really matters as they could easily change flavors.  As long as you can get it down without puking (too much) just eat it.  I brought all my gels and powerbars with me last year but this year I'm going to 'live off the land'.  I will bring a few hundred calories in case an aid station runs out.

The flavors can change.  Something else to consider is "flavor burnout", especially if you train with the same nutrition for the bike & run.  Last year I had no problem training with vanilla Gu.  In fact sat at my desk one day at the office in April and ate one because I was THAT hungry!  Fast forward to May, I practically dry heaved at the mear THOUGHT of Vanilla Gu, I was so sick of them.

As a two time finisher I thought you would know some of the rules of Ironman. One being - Don't try anything new on race day.  If its Strawberry/Banana I'm SOL. "As long as you can get it down without puking (too much) just eat it."

So how is everyone's training going right now. I have just made some real leaps in my swimming the last couple of weeks. I am sure it is just a matter of time before I get sick for a week or two and lose it all. Damn winter!

I agree.  Tomorrows 3 hour ride is going to suck. Inside or Outside.

Barely getting back into it. We had our second child two weeks ago so my sleep schedule is erratic but for now trying to get consistent again and then build the miles. This weather up here in Michigan is freakin depressing also.

I guess I have all the excuses covered so someone tell me to HTFU and shut up and train.Laughing

Wow 3 hours that is good for this time of year. I cannot do 3 hours on a trainer I go nuts. Maybe 2 hours but that is my max.
