I know, that's what I've been thinking, but it's being organized by my tri club and I don't know if they'll be thinking the same way. I'm tempted to go anyway if they call it off but I know my partner will not let me go alone. Maybe she'd be willing to hang out on the beach with 911 programmed into her speed dial

Now that would be nice of her

thebrayon - 2009-05-02 12:45 PM Well it looks I'm on the QR team. I am new to the BT site so let me present myself.
I am Luc from New Brunswick, Canada. I did some triathlon before, but never with structured training and goals in mind. I decided to change that in 2009. My main goal for 2009 is to run a HIM in September but before that, my brain told me I should try a marathon....

So I trained for the marathon and it is next week (good for my running part of the challenge.... but not for the other sports since I will be light on training this week).

Hope to have fun with this challenge. I'm also part of Neal's training group.

Well, maybe I should have used 20 posts for this message......

Hiya Luc!  Welcome to the team.

MDHillSlug - 2009-05-02 1:17 PM Hi,

I did a bike/run brick this morning and it felt fantastic! I can only hope it feels this good next Sunday at the race!

Awesome!!  It's always nice when those pesky bricks go well.  Sounds like you're ready to race

I managed to get in 60 miles.  The weather was great.  The wind was a little demoralizing in spots, but the abundant sunshine made up for that.

MDHillSlug - 2009-05-02 2:17 PM The weather is looking doubtful for my OWS tomorrow

Rain shouldn't be a problem. You'll be wet anyway

OWS is ON!

This could be me tomorrow:

Hi everyone - just checking in. My name is Dan and I live in Sendai, Japan. I haven't done a tri yet and am slowly cranking up my running and cycling distances. I've had knee problems for quite a few years (since 2001 when I did the Honolulu Marathon) and think I finally have them beat. If I can convince myself that is the case, I'll likely be trying to get into a sprint or oly distance tri in Aug or Sept.

I promise not to write any more really long posts like this again....

Just a little over 31km, but that is my longest ride so far this year.
