5 foot 10 inches and 35 lbs.

I can fly by my heavier friends riding uphill.  But always lose it in the downhill.  Never thought being skinny would be such a disadvantage on a downhill race.  Of course I don't really like riding downhill fast anyway.

Ok - here I go . . . 5'8" and 185 pounds, 26% BF.  I'm down from 265 a year ago and I would still like to loose about 20 pounds.  When I tell my friends/family that I am still trying to loose weight they are stunned saying I look good now and my face is getting too thin.  Sadly I can't control where the weight comes from and I definitely could still lose 20lbs from my gut!  Plus I want to get faster so the extra weight needs to come off.

     5'10-STILL (hate being a tall)/146lbs/19% body fat

You hate being tall? really? I'm 5'9.5", and would LOVE to have a couple more inches of height. You can send them all over if you want :-)

Can I send over the last couple of lbs too????

Would love to wear heels but height makes it difficult????  Also have a big foot!

Who knows maybe I need taller friends.

I have a sister who is 4'11- yes same parents.  It is awk when we are out togeher.  We say my mom smoked while PG with her and it stunted her growth.

At least something has come up that some people don't share readily (weight).  I have been amazed how everyone talks about everything on here:  Snot rockets, pooping habits, urination problems, etc....

The difference is that people are proud of their snot rockets and if they are overweight (or undertall, in my case), they are not proud of that fact.

I am currently 140 (plus or minus a fluctuating pound) and am about 5'5" and am above 30% in body fat.  I would like to be between 20-25% body fat, about 5'7" and if I had both of those, I wouldn't care what my weight was.  But since that doesn't seem likely, I would like to weigh between 130-135.  Which also doesn't seem to be likely.

You SKINNY, yeah I said it, skinny people who keep saying you could lose 10 more pounds kill me  .   If you are within 10 pounds then you are just nit picking.  BUT, if you really want to lose it around the waist then P90X core synergistics and abripper will do it....

lodewey - 2009-10-17 8:33 AM I'm just a hair under 6'1" and tend to hover right around 152. I actually have at least 5 lbs that I plan to lose from my mid-section, we'll see just how much it turns out to be. Aside from that, the only way to get lower would be breast reduction -- the 34D's must weigh at least 10 lbs! But hubby doesn't like that plan!

Ok guys, raise your hand if you saw this post and clicked on the Albums button on the bottom of the page!

Ha! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I don't need any extra pounds. I have ten more than I need myself :p

So we're roughly the same height--what size shoes do you have? I am the opposite--I have small feet for my size: 7.5. I buy kids shoes a lot, which sometimes gets funny looks :D

At my wedding, all my bridesmaids were 5'3" or so...I felt like Godzilla. That's why I picked my 6'2" brother to be my maid of honor :p

Yes, but at one time in my life I was over 200 pounds and even though I am within a measly ten pounds of my goal weight, the truth is that I do have an unhealthful body fat percentage.  The weight number doesn't tell the whole story.  And I do Crossfit three times per week and s/b/r and am really hoping that by the time of my HIM in March, that I will have a better body fat percentage.  I have to hope for March since it does seem like I am going to achieve it by the end of October.

Thought is was worth a try to push the pounds, maybe one of the skinny guys would like them?????

I wear a size 10.5(long and skinny), more like flippers then feet, but good for swimming, i guess????

Yes, Godzilla is a feeling I have often-LOL  In most situations I feel like I am the best chance for a body gaurd/security  in the room!

Maybe I should ask the BT guys if height on a women is sexy????

Not quite. Abs are made in the kitchen, my dear. Yes, toning and tightening the muscles will help some, but you can do all the corework in the world and still have a load of fat over it that won't go away unless you do something about it.

In terms of 'nitpicking', no, some of us may not be. If you have a small frame, 10 lbs in either direction makes a BIG difference in how you look.

10lbs, assuming you are a healthy weight isn't a big deal in the scheme of things, no...but in terms of athletic performance, esp. running, it means a lot.

10 lbs of fat lost (for me) is 5% bodyfat, that's a huge difference.

I don't get it ladies. I dated a woman for a year or so who was a tad shy of 6 feet, and I loved it. There's nothing more striking than a tall woman (particularly in heels), who stands straight with confidence. I thought she was beautiful (as did my friends) and I was proud to be with her.

Be proud of your height. I think it's a gift most people would love to have.

I do have the bigfoot issue (15 sneaker, 14 shoe) and it is a pain to find good shoes so I can sympathize with that issue.

You are the same height and weight as I am but my %BF is slightly lower.  I once hit 130 after my daughter was born.  It took a lot of hard work and was very difficult to maintain.  People kept exclaiming how skinny I looked but when I saw pictures I didn't think I looked that great - thin yes - but I didn't have that healthy glow that I wanted.  I feel healthy now (140) but would like to firm up my core.  135-140 seems a healthier range for me...

I read once that it can take a long time for the mind to catch up to the body - meaning that when you are larger and lose a lot of weight - you look in the mirror and still see the weight - that bigger person.  That it can take months for your mind to catch up with what you REALLY look like.  The reverse is true too - every notice how you can think you are fine and then suddenly catch a glimpse of yourself months later and realize somewhere along the line you gained 10 pounds?  Maybe you should take some pics of yourself and then look at them objectively.  You might be a little surprised at what you see.  Smile

I'm trying to work the weight down to 160

I'm also 46,    I only seem to lose weight at this point with 9+ hours of hard training and very carefully watch everything that I eat.  Can't cut too many calories or I can lose muscle mass or not have enough energy for training.  Eat just a bit more and I gain weight.  People also tell me I look thin and do not need to lose any weight.   Just like other posters have mentioned, thin relative to what???    In reality I only need to lose weight at this point to be faster in competition.
