I just went back in the posts - Love the snow angel pic.  I read that DC is shut right down.  If it makes you feel any better, we're in for several inches of snow starting tomorrow night.  Okay, several is not 24.

Yeah, the federal gov't is closed today; haven't heard about tomorrow. The weather reports are predicting another 6-10" for tomorrow evening into Wednesday. I don't know where the snow is going to go.

Thanks for the cheer!

It's from the wetsuit I rented last year.  It says:

"WARNING:  This wetsuit was designed for serious athletes who want to be fast.  If you are one of the brave, put this on and let them see you win. RACE WITH ATTITUDE!"

dcon - 2010-02-07 12:03 AM The snow angel and the snow bring back memories.  I grew up outside of Buffalo and we always got our fair share of snow.  Did you move your arms (flap them like a bird) to make the angel's wings?  Hard to tell from the pic.

Checking out the enemies threads and I saw Buffalo.

What part are you from?

I live about 5 minutes from Chestnut Ridge Park.

BTW they finally reopened the tobogganing chutes this year.  I have been here since 90 and they were not open then so it has been a while!

Good luck Hearts - but remember what Ricky Bobby's father said - If you ain't first you are last!  But 2nd is better than 4th!

I went to college at SUNY Buffalo and married a local from North Tonawanda. I haven't been back since Christmas of 1998, before we separated.

Sorry to hear about marriage - but cool about UB.  Funny when you find a Buffalo tie on BT.  Slugger is from NT area and there are some others out there!

That was a cool picture of the snow angel - hard work in 24" of snow huh?

The snow was so deep and heavy that I could barely move my arms and legs.

I still admire how good the Buffalo area was with dealing with the snow. This snow wouldn't have been much of an event up there.

I have some BT friends down in the PA area and they are still socked in pretty good.  Yes in Buffalo that would have been cleared by Saturday and the schools and work would have been full force today.

It would be nice skiing though!  We need some - been a bad snow year!!

I grew up in Lackawanna and we spent many a day in Chestnut Ridge in the summers. Glad to hear they are actually spending some money on the park system.

Nicole is so right about snow removal. The plows used to work around the clock. UB was on my list of possible places to go to school, but getting away from home was also important.

I need to get in 2 swims this week to stay on schedule but our swim centers are currently closed due to the weather problems and I don't yet know when they will reopen! I don't expect to run any time soon. Roads here are terrible and we have a forecast for another 6-12 tomorrow into Wednesday.

We just did almost 2hrs of shoveling and we're not done. Cleaned off both cars, dug out both sides of mine, driver's side and all of behind Michele's; still need to do some real heavy lifting behind mine (a good 8 feet, 2 feet deep, some plowed up stuff) and the stuff between M's car and the neighbor's.

Now that is a workout!

I didn't do anything this morning. Nothing. I think the snow has sapped my motivation. Well, that and the fact that its tough to get it done in these conditions. Didn't want to run two days in a row, no extra tubes, so trainer is out, and the rec center is closed, so no swimming. Looks like its yoga for a few days.
I'm sorry to constantly be so negative, but this snow has really got me down. I'm still expected to be at work in all of this! My boss is nuts. And whiny.

Our electricity was out yesterday evening until pretty late.  We didn't even have a storm or an earthquake to blame it on!  Just.....POOF....lights out!  I suspect someone's home grow operation malfunctioned.

It is georgeous out this morning!  I can't wait to go for a run at lunch!

Yikes!  Well, I thought I'd escaped all the snow talk since you guys got covered over the weekend. . . But no, apparently it's here now too!  Been snowing all day, and it's supposed to continue tonight and tomorrow.  I was planning on venturing out and going to a local running store tonight for their group fun run, but I think it may just be my usual treadmill run instead.  Tuesday is usually my speedwork day, and I don't think I'll be getting much speedwork done in this weather if I brave the outdoors Frown

Last night I got a pretty good lifting session in with my lifting buddy.  I wouldn't have minded the snow yesterday when I'd PLANNED on having an indoor workout!
