Then again if you're in a small agile group you can hit and run, or just run if necessary, quickly and not have to wait for the weakest link. The idea I think would be to have a base like the farm to fall back to and send out small parties made up of the fast and strong to hunt and gather if necessary while leaving the weaker ones back to protect the home base. Big Appa - 2012-02-16 8:01 AM mr2tony - 2012-02-16 5:52 AM I finally saw it (in the UK I have to watch it at work on Amazon since we have a US ISP) and that was an intense scene in the bar! I didn't see previews for next week but I'll watch them on AMC now! It does make you wonder whether humans would band together or fight each other if any sort of apocalypse happened. I guess it would depend on the humans. I was thinking about that too. If two groups of people were fighting and a walker horde came upon both of them what would they do? Would they ban together or would they be fighting both forces? "The Road" gives another interesting spin on the same idea. it's not zombies, but still post apocalyptic world, and that one they choose to start eating each other. I could see a little of both happening. some would resort to taking advantage of other people and others would really be looking to form communities to help with protection. The battle becomes one fought on several fronts, not only against the dead but also against other survivors for the allocation of scarce resources. There are also trust issues, and likely possibilities of a forceful dictatorship instituting things like slavery and selective allocation of those resources. Not every survivor is going to have "the greater good" at the forefront of his agenda. I haven't quite made it that far, but yeah, it really is good. your description makes it even more intriguing. thanks for not giving to much away, good synopsis. i keep losing my dang place when I close out my pages. I forget what dates I'm on. Really wish I could find a way around that one. |

New Haven, CT | Subject: RE: The Walking Dead - Season II Much better episode. I really wish they'd get back to some zombie killing and less soap-opera-esque drama. Also, they really have to take better care of their younger women. Not that having babies now is a good idea, but at some point there will be a need. I just keep thinking of the scene in Ice Age when they encounter the Dodo birds and one goes "uho, that was out last female." |

Pro 3932 Irvine, California | Subject: RE: The Walking Dead - Season II I've really been enjoying Season 2, and especially the last 2 episodes. It's fun to watch Rick's transformation from being Mr. Goody Two-Shoes into a more bad-azz character, as he realizes that society's rules have changed. He's on a collision course with Shane for sure, and I know who my bet is on. (Duh.) I also started reading the comics/graphic-novel. Started with the first 2 hardbacks, and just ordered the remaining 5 from Amazon. I wonder if we should start a different thread where people can talk about the differences between the graphic novel and the TV series? There are clear differences, and I wouldn't want to mention something that I know happens in the comics that hasn't occurred yet (or may never occur) in the TV series. |

There are also trust issues, and likely possibilities of a forceful dictatorship instituting things like slavery and selective allocation of those resources. Not every survivor is going to have "the greater good" at the forefront of his agenda. Most zombie work shows this to be true. World War Z had less overall breakdown, but still it was notable. Zomblog, Zone One, and Zombie, Ohio are recent ones I have read that also confirm this. Of course, we may be looking at the whole thing incorrectly, from our own selfish vantage point. Rather than the zombie-pocalypse signifying the end of humanity, it is actually the zombie-topia, signifying the beginning of an age of peace and harmony for the zombies... |

Resident Curmudgeon 25290 The Road Back | Subject: RE: The Walking Dead - Season II I recently saw a movie on Netflix that told the story from the zombies' point of view. It wasn't that great of a movie though, the premise was a lot better than the execution. |

Master 2083 Houston, TX | Subject: RE: The Walking Dead - Season II Bripod - 2012-02-13 1:15 PM So there's a theory out there that Jenner (the CDC guy) whispered to Rick that they're all already infected, and all they have to do is die in order to come back as a walker. That would explain why *SPOILER ALERT* Rick not only blasted tubby in the chest but also in the head. Any thoughts? So after last night's episode the bolded part above seems to hold some water. Rick and Shane were talking about how the guards didn't have any bites and that it must have been scratches, but yeah, that kind of looks like the direction they are going. Good episode. I have one complaint: I'm about tired of the look on Shane's face. It's like he's walking around in a cloud of fart all the time. Turn that frown upside down, man! Seriously though, he really needs to get some variety in his facial expressions. |

But yeah, that actor must be exhausted by the end of the day just carrying around that bad attitude all day long on the set! |

Champion 17756 SoCal | Subject: RE: The Walking Dead - Season II I liked that they are showing their thought process for how to fight in the winter and also that they are starting to be smarter with killing the walkers. Using knifes more and figuring out tricks or traps they can use to their advantage. While still having the drama with the girl trying to kill herself they got back to the basics of a zombie apocalypse rather than the soap opera we have for a few episodes. |

And how can the walkers bleed all over them but they don't get sick? With all the blood and everything they show when they get blood splattered on their mouth/ears/eyes. |

It is a bit more graphic with the zombies. And how can the walkers bleed all over them but they don't get sick? With all the blood and everything they show when they get blood splattered on their mouth/ears/eyes. I had the exact same thought. Especially considering they had just beat the shiite out of each other and were all cut up and bloody with open wounds on their lips, nose, cheeks, forehead. some kind of drool or blood had to have gotten in there. If just a scratch will do it, why not a splatter? These are the times I remind myself to just role with it. Another thing, I was trying to decipher the significance of the lone zombie walking in the field that they kept showing. Was it just an artsy fartsy "we all end up alone anyway" type of thing or was it foreshadowing or what? It kind of looked like Shane was relating to it a little bit. Maybe I'm way off, but the way he was watching it just made me think maybe he's on the verge of leaving the group. ETA: horrible spelling. Edited by jgaither 2012-02-28 12:45 PM |

Expert 1203 | Subject: RE: The Walking Dead - Season II Last episode was great! I also stumbled on a spoiler site and could not resist digging in. If the next 3 episodes play out like the spoiler explains it should be pretty entertaining. Regarding the Comic's I am caught up through the latest release and waiting for the next to be published on Weds. The story line in the show and comic have taken completely different directions which is pretty fun. However, I would not mind seeing The Governor make an appearance on the show. Wondering if the kid they dropped off is from his town, it was pretty close to the farm in the comic. |
