Myotherapist booked for tomorrow - now i've started swimming properly and faster I get sore shoulders so an hour's massage booked for tomorrow lunchtime.  Matt is just opposite work so easy to fit in (Yanti he's an easy on the eye type piglet) - he causes me immense pain at the time of the massage but I feel sooooo good after.  I've been known to cry, yell, curse and come close to vomiting when he gets on those trigger points with his elbow - he says suck it up Ironman!

I did it--my run, that is...6.02 miles in 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 22 seconds....not my fastest, but this is the first time in a long time that I have ran a full 6 miles...I guess I better get used to it with the multiple Olys. in my future!

One question: When I run, I have found that the IT band on my right side--as well as my right quad, right hammy, and right heel---okay, my right lower side!---is generally in pain afterwords--not on a permanent or even long term basis, but for a few hours afterwords....Any ideas why, or how I can fix it? It happens no matter the age and usage of my shoes (new, old, it doesn't matter)--so I don't think its my shoes; I tend to strike mid-sole too, if that helps.

I'm a huge fan of foam rollers helped me immensely after run and again before I go to bed.

TriAya - 2012-07-02 5:50 PM Well, it took four digestives and your lovely encouragements but it'll be pool. Besides, I haven't anything on today except meeting some piglet boys for dinner, so I can afford a nice long nap after.

I blame Allen.

He does rub off on you I might have used the term slapper a few times since he added it to my vocabulary

Good to know i'm spreading the love.

Forecast for here for the next two weeks.  Praying it's correct!

Wow, is that what a good forecast looks like. Our forecasters only seem to be able to draw rainclouds.

Good morning Manatees! I have a great story to share about my son.

Over the weekend I bought him a pair of bike shoes.  He's been using my old pedals that have a platform on one side and clips on the other and has been asking for bike shoes. After we got the bike shoes I suggested he go to the nearby elementary school to practice clipping/unclipping in the safety of a parking lot. Well sunday he went out in front of the house and tried it a few times then came back in.  Maybe it's a guy thing, I don't know, but yesterday he decided to go out for a full blown ride with the new shoes, without much practice.  He came home a while later with a bloody knee and several scrapes and explained that he'd started on the pavement where he fell twice (both were the typical slo-mo tip), then he went offroad (he has a hybrid) where he fell a couple more times.  But each time he got back on and kept going! I am so proud of him!

This is me n my son after my first tri...

I went for a 2 mile run today.  It was hot and humid and I totally melted and was slow as slow can be.  But I felt good and so happy I got it done.  Who cares what my pace was, I was out there.

When I was running with the Brooks team over the weekend I can't tell you how many dudes flew past me only for me to see them like a mile down the trail laying on the ground nursing a cramp.

Funny, I keep mentioning the "T" word to him and he keeps saying he's too big (I've told him about Clyde).  But the other day he mentioned doing an Ironman.  The seed is growing...
