I looked at my weekly totals after today's run, and I ran 19.92 miles.  First week this year where I went further than the pace beast.  I knew it was only a matter of time while I ramped up my mileage, but it was tough seeing that guy slowly get further away.  Time to reel him back in now. Smile

So what does "last planned mary" mean - you "retiring' from long distance and just going shorter/TRI - or just you don't have the next one planned yet, or with your base will the  next one just be unplanned or a atypical training run

All is good what ever.  Congrats on the PR and go ride a bikeTongue out

Funny, Scott.  No, I'm not planning to do any more marys.  I won't rule out ultras from the future (hubby says that is a contradiction but it's not.  Ultras are way different from marys.  Laid back.) but TBH, I probably won't ever do another ultra because I won't have the base.  I drank the kool aid too soon for the marys so I want to try to do it right for tris.  Sprints and maybe olys if I can get over the swim panic and learn to ride my bike without falling off.  Still want to do HMs but the bike and swim have to take precedence now.

WooHoo, David!

I fell a little further behind the pace bunny this week with 16.75 miles.  Drats!

Yesterday I had planned to at least not fall behind but had to curtail my run due to that dreaded internal gastro feeling ---- got to get back to the house or else!

Melanie, hope you feel better...G I issues are not fun...in any of the 3 sports...

Yessir, congrats on the 20!

Bill, you ran in 14 degrees...  I need to stop complaining when it is like in the 30's.  BTW, it is is 14 degrees, I'm not going out.  My hat is off to you!!!!!

Pink Socks and i ran this weekend (she did the full marathon and I did just the 1/2) and it took me until mile 3 for my feet to warm up.  I was so glad to line up for the race, just to get in a crowd of people for warmth....

Here's looking ahead to a better February! Had a couple of so-so weeks in January mileage-wise (at least for me), but kids activities/sports are still taking priority over my running for the next month or so. But it's still early and that pace bunny is still easily in reach.

Everyone run happy, run well this week!

Congrats everyone.. it's still early. I got my mileage in this week... well "my" week since I work rotating shifts. Got 6 in yesterday, and 7 today. That is the longest I have gone in months. Only 31 miles behind that evil bunny... I can smell the fear though.

wgraves7582 - 2013-02-04 7:09 PM Alright you Florida peeps - 15 degrees, snow and wind - went snowshoe running to break up the road running I have been stuck doing lately!  Picture running on the sand at the beach only substantially colder

Wow... good job, that's rough... not to mention the 10 pounds of gear you are wearing. I'm wore out just reading it.

Ohh, you should do that up the incline some time.

Missing a run today, again. I didn't get home from work until 8PM. On top of that, it's hellishly cold out and I'm having stomach issues. Uhg.

Hey hey...I don't wade into the challenge pool very often so I just noticed this tonight and I want in! Don't think I've ever run over 1000 before and this is one of my goals this year.

Got a pretty good jump on it so far...I'm at 117 miles so far 883 to go!

Yeah it does look like you have a good start to the year and jumping (I was going to say skipping then I saw your user name and had to change) up near the front of the pack.

Welcome!!

Welcome!!

Thanks for having me...I started the 30 runs in 30 day challenge back on Dec 31 an I'm still going strong, today will be #37 in a row. For now my legs can't take the long 10+ mile runs so my strategy is run a few miles and run me often...3-5 every day to build a solid base and eventually I'll be able to start getting my long runs in the double digits.

Looking forward to seeing how far I can go with this!

Yesterday was day #37 in a row of running, legs feel like poo this morning so no run in the am, maybe around 8 tonight to give em some extra rest time today! 120 down only 880 to go.

I know you have been around, and I am not trying to say there is some problem you should fix... but do you know the Barry P plan?
