Kido - 2013-01-03 1:48 PM Hey, is everyone sick around you or is that just my world.  It seems everyone is going through some bronchial type thing.  Coughing and hacking.  Family in CA, the wife, coworkers, etc...

Not just around me but me too.  Not very happy!

Is that this season's epidemic/strain?  It's seems very "chesty".  Lots of deep coughs.  If it's the same thing, it's amazing/scary how FAST it get's around.  Not only just my immediate surroundings, but go to CA and everyone there already has it too.

So far, I seem to have dodged it.  I feel a bit off, but it could just be fatigue and just a bit of the sniffles.  Or just a VERY mild version of it?  * knock on wood *

Yeah it seems to be hit or miss around here.  either you get hammered (me) or you get a quick case of the sniffles and are done in a day (my son the rotten little.... who gave this to me).

If I have ONE complaint about the wife (and I may have more than one)...  It would be that when she is sick, she craves snuggling and kissing and affection.  I'm like REALLY?  It's like she wants to get me sick.

I will say "no, I don't want to get sick and YOU are sick"...  Her?  "I'm not... sniffle, cough, hack... sick".

Oh not me, when I am sick just hand me the chicken soup in bed, and leave me alone, Do Not touch me!

would you rather:

go on vacation to barcelona or ecuador?

Seriously ? Ecuador. Depends a little on time of year and for how long but I've been to both and its Ecuador hands down.

may.  which seems like a nice time of year for either one.  barcelona is a little easier to get to...and i only have about a week total - including the travel so 5 or 6 good days when i am there.

Hmmm. For me Ecuador is one of the best countries I've been to. Quito is a very cool city. There's a very cool train you can take down to the coast. The route is called el nariz del diablo (the devil's nose). You can also go west into the jungle and take a river cruise along the Napo river which is one of the main tributaries to the Amazon. Very cool as also involves some hiking. Theres great hikes you can do around the volcanos, or go north to a very nice village called Otavalo. I know what you're thinking- how do I do all that in 6 days. You don't. You can pick one or 2 or find a way to extend.

On the other hand Barcelona you can cover in a day maybe 2 at the most. There are side trips you can do to the north into France or west into the Basque area, but for me Barcelona is a weekend stopover next time you fly over to Europe on business.

hmmm can you convince my husband this is a better idea than napa?  (which was originally my idea anyway, but i am itching to get supplement pages put in my passport.)

Me too.  I like to be left alone.

One thing for ME, I like to shower and have on clean clothes a lot during my down time from a cold (like twice a day).  My dad tends to grunge it out for the 2-3 days - ick.

would you rather:

go on vacation to barcelona or ecuador?

Seriously ?

VA Beach!
