chadtower - 2008-05-30 2:00 PM I can't stand the local Chuck E Cheese. Any given night there will be 100 kids and 10 adults. Ain't no way every parent there brought ten kids. There are kids climbing inside machines, mugging each other for tokens... I saw one pair of kids jimmying a skeeball machine open for tickets. With a little crowbar. Right in the open. I stopped taking the kids when last time I had to stand right next to my (then) 5 year old at every momnent because there were a couple of older kids shoving smaller ones down and taking their tokens away.

Exactly.  The Chuckie here is in a not so nice part of town and is pretty much a weekend daycare.  We have a place right next to us called Black Beards Cove which is much nicer.  It has jump castles, video games, go karts, putt-putt, etc.  We take our four and half year old there instead.

Baseball like it used to be.  Fogerty was always cool.

Fortunately my kids aren't all that big on the coin op machines. We have quite a few of them in our house so they're not a novelty.

I am. I still love that song. I play outfield, too, if I'm not pitching.

I suppose the people who came along later have something to say but I can't imagine much of it wasn't already said. That was a good thread - didn't go foul. I was surprised.

yeah, as far as video games go my son is happy playing Lego Star Wars on the PS3.  I, on the other hand, enjoy going to play the shooting games on the coin-ops.

TheSchwamm - 2008-05-30 12:24 PM i have never had a massage. Well. Um. i've never paid for a massage. How 'bout that.

So worth it. So, so, worth it.

Right, but i'm so, so broke. Well, i'm really just spending my money on other things, but it works out the same.

Check massage schools.  They usually have students do them for much less.

there is a bunch of Asian massage places here in town.  They start pretty cheap, but cost goes up substantially with any "extras"...

So I've heard....!

When I was stationed in Okinawa, our mammason used to have her daughter come over and give us hour long massages.  Wee would give her $10 each and she acted like she won the lottery.

She was about 95 lbs but it felt like she was standing on top of the table with a crowbar when you told her to get deep.  I miss those days sometimes.
