The range of emotions have stuck on anger and compensation for the stress.   I am standing firm.  Suck it trainer boy!!

It probably didn't help that my abusive ex-husband has been calling because his current wife has had him arrested, thrown in a psych hospital, and is seeking supervision for his custody in their divorce, as I had in mine.   I have now blocked him from my phone after he told me he should have really wailed on me back when he hit me the first time.   I don't need to relive 20 years ago but it definitely made me put on my big girl panties with this trainer thing.

Poor trainer.   He really screwed up and I don't think he meant it to turn out this way.  I am worthy though and will get what I paid for.

Good work both on standing up with yourself regarding the trainer situation and in call blocking your ex.

62*! Yikes! So, what do you consider warm water? My mother won't get in the ocean until the water temp is on the 80's. that usually happens in May.

I like anything over 75 . . . this was waaaay colder than I would ever imagine I could handle. Long sleeved wetsuits work wonders! I'm such a wimp, though, I wished I had booties and gloves today!

Last year I walked into my open car door. The corner put a divot in my forehead and knocked me to my knees. I even had to get a tetanus shot! Stupid car doors. Heal up!

Yeah, it was weird. I was using DH's jeep and my habit of closing the door as I pull my left leg in didn't work so well. My knee got smashed in to the corner of the CB. No puncture but the pain was bad enough that it made me naseous for a bit. (and I just finally got rid of the MTB bruises)

It was. I should order it for that reason if no other.

I'd have thought 62* was cold but after O'side and HITS I think I'm getting used to colder water temps.

The rule is that you can't be on the DL and on the Racers list at the same time so you'll need to pick one Cool

Speaking of DL Racers, any updates from Darren?

Had an appointment with my endocrinologist this morning about my hypothyroidism.  Levels are still fluctuating a lot.  He doesn't have a lot of ideas on weight loss.  There was a 1-year study at my university of hypothyroidism patients following a strict diet and exercise regimen.  The average weight loss was 6 - 8 pounds over the year.  Not very reassuring.  In other news, he is retiring this summer.

On the plus side, I am wearing my purple nyan cat shirt and that always makes me think of Yanti and be happy.

Effortless I hope!

Master's class.  Overall a decent workout but she doesn't give me much feedback on my stroke mechanics or where I can improve things.  I like her workouts better than the other Master class I attend--but the other coach at least gives feedback (inconsistently)  This is what I get for not spending the money on a real swim coach.  Bits and pieces from the web, Masters and a stroke that looks "okay" but could most definitely improve.

Here's how my squad went - first I'm in lane 7 of 8 (8 being slowest) there are five of us, three of us clearly faster.  Coach clears a lane for us.  Two of us move over and have a lane just for us we decided no chatting no resting just go go go.

Constant feed back to me from the coach - he said I need you to go deeper with the hands Jojo, I always think I am then he says something that just clicked, he said I want you to raise your elbow and feel like your hand enters the water right in front of your head.  It will feel wrong but believe me it will be in the right spot.

It was a lightbulb moment.  My catch and pull was just amazingly different.

Thanks coach Johnny

That is exactly the feedback I want.  Send me a Coach Johnny, please...then the super Piglet Mr Effortless Swimming.  (sheesh I listen to his videos cause I dig the Aussie accent)

I bet we could get at least 3 people who'd want to be coached by him between me, you and Kristen.  The Aussie accent should get a few more to the pool.

Hang in there!  Our bodies are smart.  Hopefully, keeping your levels relatively stable for a while will allow your body to figure things out.  In the meantime, you have a beautiful family, a new bike and Age Group Nationals to focus on!

YES!!! big warm purple moose {MELON PRESS}. Hm. Man, Wondermoose, you struggle with a lot of stuff. And always reach out to make others' loads lighter still. What you see and may feel as extra weight probably doesn't make you happy and isn't great on your already-cranky joints, but you're not big, you're quite active (I know you'd like to be activer), and this may be a case of accepting and being pleased with yourself right where you're at, which looks pretty good to me.

Also, it always makes me happy to listen to the nyan cat song. I know it drives everybody else crazy but ... happy tune, flying pop-tart kitty, rainbows ...

Then again, I also love this shirt. And all things Engrish.com. Oooh wow on sale for only $10! I might have to get it!

I'm getting excited about the weekend.  I'm working 2 local bike races as a driver (in my hometown, how much closer can ya get?!) which means 2 days of piglets in tight-fitting shorts with hawt gumdrops (calves).  Fun thing is both races are on courses I ride regularly, especially the time trial course (Sunday), which I have time trialed on myself, as in by myself (it's one of my Strava faves, trying to beat my own time and pick off a male or two along the way).

It is a lot of fun watching the racers, the strategies and being a part of it.  The bad side is if a piglet has a crash or a mechanical and I have to have a bloody, sweaty, frustrated racer in my car.  Thankfully of the races I've done, only 1 piglet out of 3 that I had to pick up were a bit less than pleasant.

One of the days I will pick to ride and the other run, not sure which yet.  Gotta get those trail sneaks dirty!  Perhaps tonight, even.  We'll see.

I'll come up from Raleigh for that!

Judi and Jen are both in VA, right?  I'm in PA and would be willing to travel for a hawt Aussie training sesh on how to swim better.  Virginia isn't too bad of a drive.  Jo, send over your piglet!!

Manatee Meeting in Richmond!!!

Sounds great to me!

For a hawt Aussie that will teach me to swim... I'd get there from Albuquerque!!!!!!!!!

I suppose it's greedy to keep Johnny and Brenton to myself.....and then there's Andrew for all your strength trainng needs....and riding confidence. And if none of these work the lovely Shannon turns heads.

I am lucky indeed!

Sorry about the car door incident - it knocked Terenzo out for a few weeks - he is now in France for the Long Course world champs - swim cancelled due to the cold.  I don't want him with shrinkage.

6 more sleeps until macca time.

Jogo - what an ex - best title for him is ex.

Fachmie I love you all - melons and all.  I'm losing weight - melons more like grapefruits but still a nice round fruit.
