Jet lag hit me today with a vengeance, but this zombie got on the drainer anyway since the fear of the IMAZ distance is a great motivator - 90 mi drainer

Gabe: glad to hear that you had a good run around the palace. I lived within a few km of the palace for 7-8 years and have done many kilometers around that loop. It is a great place to run, especially on the weekends when there are fewer cars.

Adding a run from Wed (36 min), run/swim from Thurs (47min/45min) and 1 hour bike on the trainer from today (Sat). Friday was a rest day.

50 minutes on the drainer. Work messed up Friday and Saturday youngest daughter had an away CC meet. She ran a season pr and is currently ranked 22 in our region for high school. Then the night was spent on the in state rivalry game. Mitch there is a lot and there isn't that I can say about that one. Go Green. If we were still betting 100's on this it wouldn't be too bad this year.

Has anyone ever done Spinervals. I saw that they had an IM Louisville workout, and I was wondering how good it was and how good they are? I normally use The Sufferfest, but I was thinking about event specific training this time.

Jim, congratulations for your youngest daughter's sports achievements, great to see the proud dad and the results from the great parental support your kids have!

Dan, great to learn that you lived near the Imperial Palace.  I love that area and chose the same hotel as my last time (Daiichi Annex) which is next door to Ginza, has some great sushi restaurants nearby and also close to the Imperial palace for running (and not as expensive as staying in Ginza).  I love Tokyo and Japanese culture and could live there for a while.  How long have you been living in Japan and how did you get there?

Adding a 19 mile run Saturday +  4hr drainer ride yesterday (boring as hell) while watching Gandhi the movie, which was more special after my Delhi trip last week.

60 min trainer ride, FTP to start "Sweet Spot Base - High Volume 1" TR training plan. The FTP test put me exactly where I left off. Considering I really slacked off during the summer this isnt a surprise. Disappointing but not a surprise. New plan puts me on the bike 8hrs/week over 5 days. I will do easy runs on my off days. I will keep the bike focus until the new year then start swimming again and put more of a focus on the run. Consistency is key, but I am also adding in a tighter focus and training with purpose.

Your training plan is a guide but you don’t blindly follow it. You shouldn’t know exactly what you are going to do until the day you are to do it.
