Ok...just to let everyone know...Fred has officially banned himself and is pretty much like Bryan.  He can't post or respond to PMs.  I believe he can read PMs, just not respond.  He can communicate via inspires, and wanted me to let everyone know that he is not ignoring any of the PMs you may have sent him.  He just can't respond.

Had a pretty good 53 mile ride.  Took it out really easy the first 30 minutes then put in some short to medium efforts at threshold and sweet spot.

Looks like the Honolulu Marathon is going to be packed.  They're estimating well over 30,000 runners where last year was closer to 23,000.  Likely because more Japanese tourists ability to travel after recovering from the tsunami and spill over from the NYC marathon.

Go Yanti!

Great bike riding today from some of you. That is some serious mileage and fast times.

I ran an easy 7 miles this afternoon on freshly graded sandy dirt roads. Very nice.

Looks like yanti is through the second bike split and is pacing evenly.

Ended up doing ~ 2 miles in the pool this morning. Decided to ride indoors, temps were as expected (33-37F), but there was a misting rain out. Great hypothermia weather, not to mention being slick, so went for 3 hrs on the trainer. The Wretched, Extra Shot: The Long Scream, and Extra Shot. Legs wanted to do There Is No Try as well, but a couple other things said maybe next time. Now to get in a few miles running.

What does Yanti normally swim (I have no idea)?

I'm a little curious to see how Daniel Niederreiter does, looks like he decided to go pro after Vegas 2011. 4:14 and 1st overall amateur.

Shes an experienced swimmer so I would have thought under 125 even with minimal training but it could be a combination of rough seas and just going out easy. Or she might have seen a manatee and chased it of course.

Her bike speed is picking up which should give her a little more breathing room.

I was worried about Yanti's swim time, since that was how her IM DNF started, IIRC. I wish I could stay up all night to track, but we just got in from a half marathon 5 hours away, and I have a busy day starting early. I'll check in at 6am EST and see how she did.

I think I read in her blog that this is just about the pace she swims in open water.  It takes time to watch for sharks and things as well.  lol

Looking at her last bike split I think she hit the head wind.  Hopefully she can power on through it.

Split 6 looks great 31.7 km/h.  Perhaps a like a tailwind.  If I could stick with her all night my metric conversion skills would improve.

Anyone else seeing the splits from age-grouper Justin Brewer? 2nd fastest swim overall (that I can see), yes faster than the pros. 4th fastest bike split I can see. He's been the virtual leader overall. And he's 22??

Oh I'm an interloper from the Manatee mentor group - she has 2.30 to do around 60km - can be done, just gonna have to dig deep, that will give her a cruisey 7 hours to do the run.  And she'll miss the heat - it's VERY hot out there

Thanks guys for checking her progress...Laughing

Yeah, but she put on quite a show given all that she's been through.  I'm super impressed with her resolve just to make it to the start line for this race.  Hopefully she is able to stay healthy going into her next one

Hear, hear. That's really it isn't it - getting to the starting line with some modicum of health? It seems to be about the toughest part of IM racing. I am about to go dark with one last little bit of travel, but just wanted to say that no matter what you are awesome Yanti. Rest up (I am sure you are in the good and capable hands of those Aussie boys that adopted you) and we are all anxiously awaiting your return!

I am seeing she is still going ? no ? 17km run done at 13h32 ?

Doesn't she have 3.5hrs left ?

25km in 3.5hrs ? She is at 10km/h pace right now ?

 I need coffee.

Not quite. I read that as 10+m per km. more like 16-17 minutes per mile. 10km per hour wuld be 6.2 miles per hour, meaning sub 10 minute miles.

Yeah, she is still going I think.  She'll need to pick up the pace a bit.  I'm not sure but I think her plan is to keep going regardless of the cutoff time but hopefully she'll get a second wind and can pick up the pace a bit, especially as it cools down
