Subject: RE: TrainersWhile i personally don't have a trainer, yet, this is what I have read around on other boards:
Mag's - can be kinda loud. The resistance on these typically either go out, or are not very variable.
Fluids - tend to be more quiet. The resistance is good, cause the faster you go, the harder it gets. I HAVE seen some posts about the CycleOps Fluid2 with leaking fluid problems. Make sure it is one of the NEWER models and that you make sure you follow the warranty exactly. They were know as being "difficult" in the past with returns.
Blackburns new ball resistance trainer - exceptionally quiet and smooth. pricey. No bells and whistles , ie - no computer comes with it.
That is what i have seen.
Personally, i'm thinking that I'll get a fluid trainer with a computer attached to it. I'm a data hog and love to monitor and track everything. check it here:
