What would you do differently?:
I'd come out of the gate a bit slower. I haven't seen my splits yet but I know I was running a sub 8 m/m for the first three or four miles. I should have been running around an 8:30 m/m during that part of the race. I did pace myself after I realized my avg. pace was too high but prolly not enough. So, I didn't have quite as much left for the finish as I'd have liked.
Light stretching as I walked back to car...more stretching post shower.
What limited your ability to perform faster:
Overall speed and endurance. Not sure at this stage I could have run a much faster race without a risk of injury.
Great race...although the weather was cold and windy at the start, it was fine once I was warmed up and running a bit off the water. Very well organized with plenty of aid/water stations and a well organized finish area. Plus, they posted the race results within hours!

Age Group Rank = 72/380
Up at about 4:55 to eat some food (banana, cliff bar, etc.) and stretch. Out the door around 5:30 to park and get to the start around 6:30.
Ran for about 5 minute and did more pre-race stretching/warmups while waiting for the start.
