I just signed up today, last year it was my first triathlon ever and I think it showed in the swim - I started up front, got swam over by just about everyone in my wave and took 25 minutes to swim a half mile...good times

My goals for this year are to greatly improve on my slow time and to go under an hour for my overall time (male clyde, could be 225+ if they had the group).

I am going to be better about filling in my training log as I have been terrible about it (and working out) these past few weeks.

It looks like I'm in for this race. I was hoping to do Danskin instead, but I won't have child care that weekend, so I'm in for Redondo instead. I love the fact that the swim is long relative to the other sports! Woo hoo!

glad to be training again. Honeymoon+Holidays = death for training.

If anyone is curious about doing Redondo, it is a GREAT beginner triathlon, a ton of supporters on the course to cheer you on and plenty of room.

I'm in. Just now registered. Fee goes up $10 on May 1st, so if you want to do this one you may want to get in before they bump it up on Thursday.

This will be my 4th time. It was my first tri back in 2005, the first year they held it.

I'm in as well.  Just got a wetsuit and will hopefully have my new bike by then, so will be racing both for the first time.

Hello,

This will be my first triathlon.  I am not too sure what to expect but have been training somewhat regularly.  Although, it seems the more I train, the more I eat.  My goal is to finish the triathlon in an hour since that seems to be the median time for my age group (34).

I'm bumping this one back to the top since it is coming up in two weeks! Woo hoo! There are enough of us going that we should hook up for lunch the day before. Just a thought!

Yippee! I'm game. Another thought is, since it's so short and even the super speedies won't have to wait TOO long for ... uh ... me, we could also go to lunch after.

I'm actually riding my bike down from Venice as a warm-up.

Hey, Jocelyn, can you remind me of why I signed up? I don't like short races, have no idea why I laid the money down, but it seems like a sweet tri ... there must have been a good reason! Maybe because you are doing it?

Anyone?

You signed up for it so that you could go have lunch with me! Actually it is because this race is for swimmers...a lot less of all that bikey, runny stuff! It will be a fun little race!

Who else is in for lunch after the race?

Hi!  Redondo is going to be my first Tri, so I'm pretty excited!  I'm most worried about the swim, but I think I'll be able to hack it when race day comes.  I need to get in the ocean one last time before the race, though - since last time didn't go so well (i've been training almost entirely in a pool).

Anyone up for an Open Water swim in Santa Monica tomorrow (Sunday, June 1st)? I'd like to have a partner out there with me....

Okay Matt...I'll race...but just for you!

Actually we're going to be in my mom's town the night before for a party and I realized that if we slept at my mom's she could watch them at her house while I go to the race. It's like an hour from Redondo, but who cares! She would love for us to stay over and love to have the kids at her house. I haven't told her yet because there is still a chance that my husband's trip could fall through. But, I think I'm now in either way! See ya there!!!

Right on. Another race with Jocelyn and Matty Matt. I don't know if I'm cool enough to hang, but I will sure try Jocelyn, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Probably not the wisest of moves to have done Rock and Roll Marathon with Faeron yesterday, but it was worth every bit of the fun, and I'm probably not going to win Redondo anyway

Great to see everyone else posting too--it will be so wonderful to have lunch with you all!!!

Looking forward to this weekend. Should be in for sure. A little nervous about lack of OW practice lately though. Oh well. I don't know about lunch. It depends on who's watching the kids. I should know later in the week!

Hey everybody, is lunch after the race a definite? I would sure like to meet all these BT posters I keep seeing in the local discussions. I know I already met you TriAya (even though we didn't realize it until some days later) at the UCLA IronBruin, but I wonder how many of you will look familiar in person. After all, we all seem to be doing the same races.

If lunch after the race is difficult to schedule, consider having lunch together the day before, after packet pick up at TriLab. Actually, the Redondo Tri has always put out a pretty good feast post race, so another meal right after is a lot of food for one day... or... lunch on both days???

I can't meet Saturday, I have a family obligation in Santa Barbara (that I am riding too, or that is the plan right now )

Sunday try to find me at the race, I am volunteering and have to be there at 4:30, and will have post-race duties.  If I am awake for food after it will be a miracle!

Actually, you will all see me as i am working the swim to T1 area, I get to watch you huffing and puffing up the stairs.  I was a little sad not doing it this year (it was my first), but I was there last Sunday and walked up the stairs and the hill to T1...... naw, not so sad anymore

I'm so bummed...what I thought was mostly likely going to work for childcare, didn't. I'm back out for the race. Can't come up with any other doable options. Crap. I'm DNS yet again. Sorry Matt!

Have fun all you crazy kids! Can't wait for the race reports!
